Never thought about bending the hoses. Thats another reason I am glad Superior tractors don't have hose racks. That could be a real pain to get draped over a rack. Do your trailers have hose tubes should that happen?

Yeah we got tubes on our trailers. But hooking up to customer locations requires bending a lot of times. Nothing standing on it and a lot of elbow grease won't fix. I've seen those Schneider racks that bend around behind the sleeper. That looks like a pain if they were to freeze in that position haha. But in that position if there were any product left in the hose it would at least drain to the ends.

Never had a problem but I would prefer hose tubes. One develops a technique to pulling and throwing hoses.

Yep you get in a certain rhythm and you do it every time. Step by step just so you don't forget anything.

The worse ones are the customer connection where they put a 45 or 90 degree elbow pointing down right before the connection point. I have had a few of those where it was only a foot or 2 off the ground and was very hard to bend the last 2 feet of a 3 inch hose up and jam it into the connector with dried or frozen product gumming it up.

I've been thinking about asking our safety department if we could get a 90 degrees elbow. Some places we go that little extension would be oh so helpful.

Hi Guys. I've just read these 16 pages and gleaned some good information. Question: I am interested in driving regional tanker. I was told by Schneider that even as a regional I could be sent to all 48. Does this happen often?

Also is it possible to get home weekly? I am investigating Prime as well, but have learned that they require 3 weeks out before going back home. Thanks.

Do you have any driving experience? Any tanker experience? Where do you live? My company requires at least a year of driving and they will train you on the tanker part. Just gotta get your endorsement before you get to training. Home every weekend. I'm a regional runner. Only run Midwest so far. They do have national which us all 48 if ya want to do that. We are based in plattsmouth,ne. Ofc/schmidt. I been here since 10/1/13 and have yet to gross less then $1000. Paid hourly. I don't know exactly what there hiring area is but it couldn't hurt to talk to them if it sounds like something you could do.

About to graduate from CDL school. I will have doubles/triples endorsement and tanker. Zero experience. I live in Pennsylvania. Both Schneider and Prime will hire me and further my training. I will need to coordinate my schedule with that of my boyfriend who drives for RH Crawford, he gets home on Fridays and rolls out again on Sundays. I'm ready, able and willing to work hard, but one must balance work with family time. Tanker appeals to me, I don't have exact numbers from Schneider yet, but Prime pays tanker fairly well. Don't really want to do reefer.
