The one in my truck was put in 2002 and doesn't have tears or anything so up you must have been buying junk.

    Nope,not junk seats.
Reason for 98989'wear is easier,he is getting in an out off his truck like a P&D driver.
Trust me,if you do short haul seats wear out.

It is for the same reason that i never let mileage be the only factor in deciding how worn a truck/engine is.

yes something like this, seat itself had good textile , but mechanically it was not best, now when i have disassemble , i see there is dirt, dust and even mud inside preventing it from slide, but gear in backrest was damaged-worn out so replacing was necessary

in typical day of this truck you get inside 50-70times ,
-after you unload need to check if everything get and if something left on tail..
-after arrive on loading you usually need to wait for load , so you get out
-need to again get in and move truck,
-than during load you need to look how excavator will load ,
-after need to sign papers ,

you do all of this very quick it is more like jumping on seat than normal sitting

and you usually make 10-14 loads per day

also this truck is pretty rough in suspension 12leaf short springs on both front axles 15springs back , also spring cab suspension , in combination with our pretty bad roads and construction sites , and offroad on depot places .....it sums and damage seat ....even i think nobody above 80kg ever driven it , last seat also was not factory so , this now is third in 27years

really there are ISRI and Grammer seats in US trucks too.

National and Ez-rider seats may be in EU trucks.

So I'd say they share seats, steering wheels, and some interior parts

    Yes, EU cabs are wider.

Us seats tend to be very soft with limited adjustment, I don't like soft seats as they create pressure points making my rear end sore at first then numb!

I agree with that. I was fortune to purchase a truck that didn't have someone with a big and heavy bumb. (No offense to those of you) My seat was /felt like a factory new seat. I can drive for some time comfortably. I do get out of the truck every few hours anyway to stretch and walk around.

    Scania man Thanks this.

Thats a good thing to do, it's not good to spend all day sitting then crawl straight into the bunk

    You talking about me? :biggrin_2552:

I tell you about bad seats.
Im not sure which is worse , the seat on a rigid 1518 Tata truck or the economy class seat on the 18hour flight from South Africa to New York.
No, as bad as the Tata seat is the aircraft seat defiantly way worse.
