I am stepping up to putting my Kurig Coffee maker in my truck ( Dang right I'm spoiled LOL) so my 500watt inverter I got as a gift will no longer be enough since the coffee machine pulls 1,500 or so. So far I am looking at either the Cobra 2,500 or the Power Driver 2,000 watt. Sounds like there might be some problems with the Power Drive but that's just a internet search. I also plan to run a fridge but I need my coffee too!! LOL what do you other driver have for power?
Anyone with a 2000 + Watt power inverter what do you have

Just remember, those ratings typically posted are peak, not continuous. Try and get a realistic continuous output rating. Those heating elements in those Keurigs are not very forgiving in terms of watts consumption but you may get by with a good 2k unit, but 2.5k may be better. Don't be surprised if you're truck's sleeper power gets cut half way into the heating cycle. I've ran a 1500 watt electric kettle on a 1800 watt inverter it pushed the inverter pretty hard but it never kicked off, but to be safe, I stepped down to a 1000 watt kettle and I'm more comfortable with this. So I recommend double the wattage of your biggest consumer appliance wattage rating if at all possible.

But you probably know but for others who may read through this thread. PROPER installation of the inverter, as close to the batteries as possible, with properly sized cables and connections is as important as proper size selection of the inverter. The cigarette lighter inverters should be used for nothing more than perhaps a phone or vacuum or small laptop charger.
fr8te_sh8ker Thanks this. -
Cobra 2500 is what I use. I think it is 2500 continuous and 5000 peak. Has never let me down. Biggest application is a kettle, unsure of the wattage ... At same time use laptop charger, printer and cell/iPod charger and no problem.

unless you have a huge alternator, everything over 1500 is overkill and you wont get peek power out of it. A 150 amp alternator at 14 volts produces only 2100 watts. Now it wont produce any ware near that unless your at like 2000 rpms. At 1000 rpm it will likely produce 1200-1500 watts. Uf you draw any more power, it will drain your batts. Now unless you have real good AGM batts, they wont handle that load. If your not careful you could brown out the electronics of the truck by putting to large a load on them while the truck is running.
Either way, unplug everything else while using the coffee machine. -
I personally would not invest in typical truckstop inverters (READ made in China).Had bad experience with Cobra(3 x replaced fortunately under warranty and was professionally wired and fused).Remote control on
cable died, could't turn unit off (bad on/off switch - had to shut truck off and start on again - that how I turned inverter off LOL).At the end unit died after 3 years of use.And could't use CB when was ON,terrible
static noise. Will be looking for new one soon.Found this websites:

Good luck! -
If keurig is anything like a bunn you will find that water will leak out of internal tank and make a mess when you drive down the road due to bumps also you must not let unit freeze

Mine is 3000 watts, don't recall the make, but is supposed to max at 6,000. Company had to approve the invertor, and install it. I run a fridge continuously, a coffee maker and microwave, but only while truck is running, and then one at a time. Have had no problems, and it sure makes waking up in feed-lots way more bearable.
