I wouldn't take my truck to Savannah for a marker light much less anything with the engine. But I lucked out and got a room tonight lol

Cant say I blame you. I've been telling them they need to set up a priority system on maintenance. They treat anything as a non priority and that even means a driver with a load could wait hours or more for a basic repair. Jax is not much better. It's ashame.

Never had a problem at Jax, usually been in and out pretty quick there. But last time I put something in the shop at savannah it took 8 hours, under a load, to get 1 bald tire changed

Yup, Savannah is horrible. I went to Jax for hub seal nut and washer. Over two hours. Before that a service...over six hours. Tired of the maintenance departments treating the reason they are in existence like trash. No drivers with trucks...no maintenance department. Hell, no drivers, no company. We should be paid the most.

Preach! Haha, but you know we'll always be at the bottom and someone who sits in and office and has never drove a truck is at the top

Terminal and dispatchers should have to go out with a trainer at least once a year every year as long as they are an employee so they can understand just what happens on the road.

I say anyone that tells us what to do needs to hold a CDL themselves. Steve up in Mocksville keeps his current eventthough he's a dispatcher

I agree. A college degree is one thing behind the desk, but actually understanding what a driver deals with is another.

    Hey Mph,
I have read this entire thread, so excuse me if I missed the answer to this question. What is the average pay you have been receiving?
The recruiter told me 700-900 a week, also on average drivers get between 1800 an 2300 miles a week. At 30.5 cpm that's 690.00 a week on a good week, plus that's saying all miles are paying 30.5, which I assume unloaded is a lower rate.
Anyway, I hope to hear from ya soon. You and the other drivers have made me feel more confident in my choice. I Start OR next Tuesday in Savannah.

600-800 is a more realistic number I'd say, and that 30.5/20 should start bumping up pretty quick
