Road test, skills field, trip planning, equipping truck, several knowledge tests. You will be fully occupied.

Yes, they will find a load that gets you toward home. They do say it is possible you won't get home that first weekend if you live far from Cuba. I can't say if Athens would be an issue. Lots of loads to the ATL area where I am.

 

I'm in the application process right now. They're doing my background check right now. The lady is real nice but she seemed a little aggravated that I didn't want to start this month. I mean I will if I can but closing on my house this week or the next and then closing on a piece of land right after that and then really need to get the builder for my new house started. She was asking me what my plans we're exactly because I applied and wasn't ready to go. Said that trucking companies are ready for you to start when you apply. Wasn't real sure what to say. Is it a big deal to ask for a later orientation start date?

 

Here's my question once you decide between 2 carriers and you've been accepted by both, what do you tell the other carrier? You've decided to go with someone else or you just can't attend at this moment.

 

just tell them your moving in a different direction for the time being. no need to say anymore than that

 

Ok just didn't know if trucking recruiters were as pushy as military recruiters. I just got the phone call from TMC, they are inviting me to orientation. No date set yet as I have to wait to close on my house. Mcelroy told me to call them Friday for an update so hopefully they will invite me as well. I've been leaning more towards Mcelroy.

 

Yep!Had my first phone interview today,and was told to call back Friday.
