You talk about others buying stuff at a truckstop,I don't see where you said You bought anything. Are You one of the freeloaders?Maybe You parked at Walmart and got kicked out.You could park there at one time,it was free.

The point is its a truckstop, not a company dropyard.

I'm not one of the freeloaders... On Tuesday my radiator hose blew at the flying J in Amarillo Texas and I had to buy 14 gallons of Antifreeze which was $212.17... My company only fuels at pilot and flying J's... I eat Subway all the time... Pilot owns the Subways... They get my money one way or another even though I try and avoid buying as much as I can at any truckstop ... The reason for drivers not being welcome and more and more Wal-Marts is like any where else due to all the drivers trashing the lot...

No! I will never pay for parking unless there's no way around it.

It doesn't matter if they spend money or not if they turn a public truck stop into their own company drop lot. I hope someone gets there some night and needs a place to park, and hooks up all of those trailers and parks them nose to tail along the south edge of the lot.

REALLY, so you're ENTITLED to a free shower because you company spends money there on DISCOUNTED fuel? If you company only buys fuel at Pilot Flying J, then that's the only place you should park, then you don't have to worry about paying for a place to park at any of the other truck stops.

I have to deal with a mom and pop every week, the only station to get fuel that a couple companies use. The other day I fueled up at $4.45 a gallon and that afternoon I returned to top up and it was $4.65 a gallon. now how can I justify this when the only other station is 15 miles away?

you realize that the company gets discounts ay anywhere they fuel
not reflected in the price on the sign
no mom and pop can compete with discounts some chain can offer

I don't think it's right to charge for parking, no. On the other hand, if there wasn't the option to pay for a reserved spot, my husband sometimes wouldn't HAVE a place to park, and, much as he resists it, I push for him to pay for parking when it looks like that's the only way he's going to be able to. I may be just the nitwit wife, but, gawd, I want him as comfortable and safe as possible, though I won't call truckstops either one, actually. Still, it's better than a lot of alternatives. Besides, he can always fire me, right? (Not.)

Flying J was a heck of allot nicer place when they didn't take comcheck .
It kept the mega idiots out and you could get to a fuel pump in less than 30 minutes .

If I had to deal the drivers I see every time I stop at a truck stop I would have a whole lot worse attitude than any cashier I have ever ran into .
Heck I hate truck drivers more every time I have to deal with the idiots just fueling .

Call me crazy but I have no problem with the cost of things at the truck stop .
I am not forced to buy their products .

I have no problem paying to park in areas that are high use areas . I always pay to park at West Memphis because to me it is worth the cost if I don't buy something to get it free .
