I'm looking to move to Texas in the near future. I'm trying to find out what areas are worth checking out. I have my class A with tanker, hazmat, and twic card. I'd like something that lets me come home every night. Does anyone have any leads or any information on where to start? Thanks in advance, your responses are/will be greatly appreciated.

Just dont work for dillon transport out of dallas. Pulled roofing flux for them and they are one of the worst. Left after 3 months. I'd say west texas or south near san antonio. The whole fracking thing going on can make you good to amazing money. Cant beat making money doing nothing.
hardworkinman Thanks this. -
If you want to be near a major city San Antonio or Houston(your TWIC will get you work there).
Otherwise West Texas. -
There is usually better pay and much more work if you live away from the larger cities in south central TX
In West Texas bring an RV, Its very hard to find a place to live there

Dallas or Houston would be your best bets. The culture shock of some other cities would be HUGE!

North Texas(Dallas) has much fewer opportunities in the oil field than other areas. Especially if someone has no oil field experience.

I was joking!!!! From one Yankee to another!!!

Dallas.or Houston are his best bets starting off. Going from MY state to.West Texas is insane. F2f or Houston are good introductions to Texas for city slickers.deedeedallas Thanks this. -
I just moved out West from Dallas. Dallas is pretty much a dead zone for oil field work. OKC, East Texas, W Texas, Houston, SA...
Dallas is NOT the best choice for starting in the oilfield. -
