Dickies work pants. All I wear. Got sick of pockets tearing at the corners of jeans when I entered and exited the truck. (I don't work for Averitt.) Jeans are not the only pants in the world.
Tattoo on wrist a problem with Averitt?

What in the world is wrong with jeans? Is that just for orientation? Or do they mean the whole time you're driving for them?

Averitt has a uniform policy...They want you to dress nice for orientation and after your first day they lets you go and get fitted for uniforms. Every year they give you a 150 dollar allowance to buy new uniforms.
Kroozn20 Thanks this. -
EXACTLY!!! I really liked the Averitt recruiter that came to my school but they seem overly controlling of people. The tattoo crap is bad enough (I'm in Richmond, VA, the 3rd most tattoo'd city in the country) but what ended if for me was their "grooming" policy. I'm a neat clean cut guy but have a goatee, sometimes I make it a beard. Always groomed and trimmed. Which they have the balls to call "unprofessional". BUT if you have a mustache, THAT's ok!. Which tells me some guy calling the shots like's mustache's. I can completely understand not allowing people to walk around looking like they don't own a razor, but I see that no different than them showing you a picture of acceptable haircuts or colors. Too bad because they had a local job here and could have gotten it IF I shaved clean, no thanks. I'm sure a company that anal about nothing would bump heads with me later on. oh well. Rant over LOL. -
I think I would enjoy working for a Company like that. They realize that rivers are the face of the company. It irritates me to no end when I drive up to a fuel pump and see a driver in gym shorts. I hear a lot of drivers say all I am doing is driving might as well be comfortable. Then we get mad at the company s over low wages. Why should they pay us more ? After all, all we are doing is driving

I saw one of our drivers the other week who was obviously a hip-hopper wannabe with his hat on backwards and a rather obvious neck tattoo. I don't know how he got into orientation unless he got the ink afterwards.
It was obvious by his driving/backing/attitude he was fresh out of school.
Maybe they are cutting more slack for the lower paid students instead of showing more appreciation to the veterans. -
I got a job offer today. I had the video conference interview with human resources, then the interview with the on sight account manager later in the day. About an hour later I received my job offer from the recruiter. She informed me that I would be driving up to orientation. That she would order my uniforms for me about a week before I go to orientation. I might start my own Averitt thread. We will see what happens. From the sound of things I will be making $875 a week starting out the it will jump to a wholiping $900 a week within a year. Again we will see what happens
