with all these guys paying for "reserved parking", you will be a dinosaur in about two years

and you will have no one to thank for that, but your fellow drivers

you are way behind times, pay parking was way more prevalent several years ago, way more thn now.

I don't understand the fuss about t/a reserved parking. its only a few spots at each location. not like the entire lot. no big deal unless you can afford it I guess.

Or until the entire lot is pay to park. But as I said on page 1... I understand the rationale on both sides

The points systems are not so simple, points can be used at most without printing a voucher, but TA and Petro, with their card, you have to decide how many you want to use by printing a voucher, and you need to spend that much or more, they aren't supposed to give you change from a voucher.

PFJ if you get on a higher tier, or have some company involvement, has showers going out to 10 days, maybe more, the showers stay 5, 7, and 10 days that I know of. I don't know if any shops are affiliated, so I'm not aware if tires and repairs are awarded points.

Loves is dependent on how much fuel you bought and swiped to the card in the previous month, 1000 gallons or more, and the month after, showers and drinks are free with some restrictions, which are mainly ignored. 10,000 gallons in a year, and you are on unlimited for the rest of the year. You can keep it ongoing, but the tier depends on the previous month. Points are awarded for tires and mechanical work at Loves at 1 point per dollar spent with a card swipe.

TA/Petro, the showers are 10 days on the Ultra-One card, and if I remember what I read correctly, unlimited after you purchase 18000 gallons of fuel in a year, I'm not sure of continuing it once you get on it, but I'm thinking it does continue.Points are awarded for shop work swiped to a card at one point per dollar spent in the shop.

PFJ has points for merchandise as well, but the tier you are on depends on previous months fuel purchases as well. The merch being promoted changes over time.

Coffee is cheaper at Loves than the others, if it's fresh, it's not bad, TA has changed theirs, it no longer tastes and works like aluminum polish. PFJ is usually good, but there are things to watch

PFJ has their own, some like it, but affiliates(sell Pilot diesel with various amenities)may not have PFJ coffees, and the Road Ranger/Pilot diesel outlets have Road Ranger coffees.

A new affiliate that I used to go to alot is the one at Austin, MN, that one sells BP gas for cars and has it's own restaurant that they kept, and sells Ronnoco Coffee.

There are rewards for food and drink purchases at PFJs and Petro/TAs.Loves has drinks with fuel purchase and unlimited available if you purchase enough.

Pretty much. You will find one TA with good coffee & you start to think, "they fixed it, this is good stuff!" Then the next 3 or 4 stops are back to the solvent you mentioned. Pilots coffee is not that great, it is just not that bad, sad difference.

The only thing I liked originally about Pilot locations is that they were mostly the same layout/same products etc. They use to always be fully staffed & there was generally one person working the coffee/food area out on the floor. Somewhere around '09 they switched to full out convenience store mode.

Like the newer Loves with Hardees, they are just not everywhere. Those that mentioned Chesters Fried Chicken must have had a different version than what I got. Given the option of going back or looking through a neighboring dumpster, am thinking the dumpster would be the choice. May be I was just there on a bad day?

Would like to know where all the Mom & Pop places are. Would support more of them, but some seem to be off the beaten path. If you are not familiar with them, you never know if they are still open or not.

I perfer Fueling at TA, i Averaged a $0.27 Discount at the pump last month, If im parkin for the weekend i dont mind TA/Petro, looking for something quick to eat Pilot/Loves i just wish we could get better Fast Food, its the same everywhere just about, not a large variety, i like the J's with Huddle House, and the 1 pilot i went to with a Ihop, but 99% are like Denny's and McDonalds, & Subway sick of that stuff

I've never seen a benefit to the independents. Can you name some that the big stores don't provide cheaper, faster, better?
