I guess we'll see what continues to be glued into the windshields of every new truck they are processing, but anything is possible with Crete, and the bottom line is if it gets harder to keep or fill the seats in the trucks, who knows?
The unusual thing is they didn't have you sign any new legal crap when they assigned the new truck with the cam. You just watched a video from Drivecam that told you how wonderful it was, and the terminal manager tried to emphasize 'we're not spying on you and this is good'. As far as putting these in the trucks of screwups, I got my new truck with the the cam about the same time the letter from Safety arrived at my house with the 'thank you for XX years of accident free driving' crap.
Maybe nothing will happen, but, from my years with Crete, i have learned to expect if not the worst, but the most inane and annoying. I do suggest you run your own dashcam alongside of the drivecam if you get stuck with one of these. I kind of doubt Crete is going to give you access to copies of whatever video they try to hang you with.
I'm waiting for Crete to install seatbelts in the bathrooms at the terminals, and require us to wear them while seated.
You'll have to wear a Hi-Vis vest while standing at the urinal, also, to avoid accidents. (Ok some of you guys probably sleep in them, so it's not a big deal)

My terminal manager told me this. Since he is an office person for Crete, yes, I'm stupid to believe him, but it's about the same as believing something a trucker tells you. You don't have to believe me. I dont even believe me! Just believe what you see, and the next time you are at a terminal where they process new trucks, look up in the center of the windshield, and smile.

A buddy of mine is getting his new truck tomorrow in Knoxville. I will ask him what he gets and what is on the windshield.

I worked for Crete when it was still a nice place to be. In 2006, when an out-of-service driver rear-ended a car in Florida (with an unlicensed, 15-year-old girl operating the car), everything changed. You see, Crete is a self-insured company. They lost the butt in the lawsuit that followed, even though they did nothing wrong.
