Screw runnin team with some random person. Your all amped upfrom a drop then trying to relax and sleep while the other guy blast the radio or yap on the cell phone. Then you got to hope he doesn't fall asleep from being fatigued from the delivery. My buddy worked for coremark and people were Rollin rigs left and right from falling asleep behind the wheel. I couldn't sleep like that knowing you might wake up on the roof. F'that! Most US Foods don't team. I'm glad US Foods fired me, I realized afterwards I really hated the job. After a year it wears on you physically and mentally. Compared doing LTL linehaul hardest thing I do now is get my butt up to go to the gym.

I worked for them for 3 years out of Kansas City. Non union, was making 23 an hour. I made about 65 last year, and that was a lot of forced over time. And there is no way he was running a 800-1000 case route in 3 hours, unless he had on stop.

us foods wont transfer union employee's, not even between different union shops. I have a friend who is moving to Arizona, and they wont help him transfer at all, and he has basically been blackballed by the company. he contacted the local in AZ and they gave him a story about how much of a dick the TM is at the facility, and how he won't hire any union transfers.

I could see the company not wanting union guys at a non union shop, but common, transferring a union employee between two union shops? what do they have to lose? fwiw, I guess AZ needs drivers BAD, too.

$26.05 to start. After 90 days it goes up to $27.55 an hour. Word is that we'll be getting a raise in July. 4/10 schedule with some opportunity to pick up a fifth day which is time and a half the first 8 hours, then double time after.

I have been doing Foodservice for 6 years for Mclane and MBM was thinking about moving to usfood because of the benefits and the hourly pay. With my other companies I get paid by stop case and mile and they dont mind leaving you out doing nothing if they want to. If the truck is broke after your route is over with MBM and with mclane they dont give a #### how long it takes. They schedule alot of 16 hour layovers. I just want more home time I know all about foodservice and its not hard work. I grew up on a farm and was throwing bails of hay since I was 4 years old. Im 42 now and I dont see foodservice as being that hard unless you are a fat lazy lardass that hasnt worked a day in your life. And its not about conditioning or being in shape. I am not in that good of shape even though I have been doing foodservice for 6 years now. Its about will power. Working through the pain and not stopping because you have a hang nail.

FYI: Sysco now owns US FOODS--consolidation to begin sometime fall 2014--so be careful of any changes you may want to make--at least until it all shakes out......
