Yes odessa has a population just shy of 100000 same for midland. pretty large variety of supermarkets & shopping venues to choose from. I believe there is three more Walmart between the two cities. You can pretty much find whatever you're looking for a Walmart.

LDI off Industrial is hiring. Flat bed hauling dry chem to rigs...loading/unloading with forklift. Some tanker. They take you on quick fast and in a hurry as long as you pass a piss test. will be a couple weeks for your first check.
I got a friend who graduated in the same class as me took the job cause he had no resources to job hunt here locally. 936 825 0660. (I get no kick backs from the company)
I am here in Midland now, got here a few days ago just after graduating form school.
On the hunt for tanker experience or better yet crude hauling.
MANY jobs here other than Oil Field and housing can be tricky.
You can find a room for rent on CL...Plenty of people trying to share a room, and every now and then you can come across a private room in a house. Range $300-$600. I found one my first morning here (Slept in my car over night in Parking lot at WalMart on first night) I dont recommend looking for a room without being here...you can call around and such, but they go quick so you are better off finding one when you arrive because they can be rented out fro under you. Happened to me. Lost no money but ended up better off.
I deliver pizza and get 50 hours on the schedule. This week, I should hit 65 hours.
It is actually tough work at those hours cause you do alot of running around plus I close. Have not had a single day off since I arrived, was hired the night I showed up (But was employed with the same company while in Central Texas before moving here)
Most food service has approved overtime due to lack of workers and surplus of customers.
The store I work at is the highest grossing within the company state wide...
Anyway, My advise for those trying to find a job from afar...

The post earlier about Pennsylvania losing oilfield jobs is because of the government passing more and more regulations that make the cost of oil drilling higher and companies moving elsewhere. The rig count is at 1792, the highest since the crash of 2008. The rigs in Pennsylvania are just moving somewhere else so the oilfield is going strong and growing.
i just went to Colorado from North Dakota . The company got a better offer around greeley Colorado . Divide county North Dakota decided to go after overweight trucks so it wasn't worth staying there. The produced water there is 10 pounds a gallon so you can only haul 80 barrels. At $2.00 a barrel you can't make enough.
the companies here are all hiring drivers just like everywhere else. Wages are just starting to go up since the rig count in Colorado is going up. Currently there are 61 rigs and rising439530, tacomaruss, ChrisDHeye and 2 others Thank this. -
Does anyone know the deal with Suncoast Resources in Corpus Christi? Heard they lost that big account BHP
