Swift does suck end of story and they do pull silly shady crap like they did with the swifty driver....
Oh the horror stories I can sit here and state and tell you all but it really wouldnt do any good...
I am one of the many swifty drivers that was suckered in to driving with swift I did not go research like I should have...which is my fault and no one elses...
Swift does for the better part have a great mentor program....That is if you find a awsome mentor who is willing to be patient and is willing to teach and if your willing to learn..
Swift needs to pay better as well I mean 26 cents a mile is horrible...I mean exspecially with the way the economy is right now...
They dont treat the drivers with any respect and the ones that stay are the ones that are content with being a puppet on a string....
I mean even my mentor said that being solo with swift is not the way to go at all...There is no money really to be made unless your at top pay and a mentor on a wal mart dedicated fleet you will not make any money....
I am sure there are alot of horror stories about every truck company out there but what is the common thing you hear Swift....
I mean I dont even like to keep my cb on because of the flack i get for driving for swift...
I dont like being around other drivers because they do tend to get to close for comfort just because of the name on the truck.....
There are some good drivers that do work for swift which is the only real reason they are up and running right now....
But even on a safety aspect.... there is by thier own statistics that they have to many accidents and not enough trucks 18,000 trucks and 21,000 accidents....I mean what is wrong with that picture????
I mean Swift needs to better the company and overhaul it and make changes before its to late....
I mean swift is horrible in just about every phase in trucking.... Which we all can agree upon.....
but maybe one day after they learn the hard way they might actually become a good company to drive for...Only time will tell....
Yes I can bash swift because I work for them for the time being....
However they are making me not to even wanna be a truck driver anymore....
Which is sad Because I love to drive its always been a passion of mine...
Anywho thats my thoughts on swift for now... -

In another thread you say that they owe you $1,200 and from another post on that thread you make it sound as if that is for one trip. If you are making $0.26/mile as you say here that means that trip was a 4230 mile trip allowing for $100 for other reimbursable expenses. That would be an interesting trip.
As for 18,000 trucks and 21,000 accidents, where on earth did you come up with that??? According to SafeStat (which is from the FMCSA) as of 4/25/08 for the previous 30 months, Swift had an average of 18,697.7 power units and 2,682 accidents.
And no we cannot all agree that Swift is horrible in all phases of trucking. Many report positive experiences. Hundreds of million+ milers who have been with Swift for years would disagree. Many on hear disagree. From a customer service standpoint the customers are quite satisfied with Swift as they keep awarding them "Carrier of the Year".
You have had a bad experience but the way your posts on here read it is beginning to become more obvious that you probably have a fair share of responsibility for that bad experience. If you have talked with office personnel (DM, TM, Payroll, HR or whoever else) via phone or Q/C the way you are coming across here they have probably buried your paperwork and will get to it some time. You want respect as a driver but they also want respect. You rag on them and they will just shut you out. It is good not to tick off those who have control over your work and paycheck. You can attract more with honey than with vinegar. Calm down, for goodness sakes.Last edited by a moderator: May 24, 2008

based on the FMCSA numbers, Swift is averaging 89.4 accidents (reportable) per month. Out of 18,697 tractors. 21,000 drivers.
That's an accident rate of .0048 - not a whole lot different from any other company in the industry. -

first off your views on swift lead me to believe your one of the only few drivers that are willing to be suckered in...
Second, it was a live unload that i was not paid for and it was a 4200 mile run.....there were small other reimbursements that swift did not and refuses to pay for....
finally the stats that i presented is fact...
swift even admits to thoses facts....in thier log book and sims class because it is a safety issue....
You really should pay attention as to what other people say before you even attempt to post anything on a site with only bits and pieces of information
If i could i would really post the mission statement that swift has on here but however you cant copy and paste it....
you could if you had any brains see how conflicting swift is in their very own mission statement...
Yes swift has more accidents then trucks yes you get used by swift...
However if you pay close attention to what i posted you wouldve have seen where i stated that swift has a great mentor program....
However when you upgrade its not the best to work for as a matter of fact its the worst...
Ask your self this one question why does swift have the highest turnover rate in the truck industry????
Why does swift have drivers violate the fmscr's......
Why does swift have the worst accident ratings in the industry..???
Why does swift have the worst reputation in the trucking industry???
Why does swift have some many complaints against them?????
If in fact they were not as shady as other drivers who have come on here to let other people know if they are not what they are?????
Swift does not have the drivers intrests at heart....
Lets take a look at one of the rules in fmscr rule book....
397.6
read what that states.....
Before you even attempt to conjur up some exscuse for swift...
It states you are not allowed to opperate a combination vehicle if it will cause a break down or a accident....
Swift attempted to have me run a tractor trailor that in fact violated this very rule....
which is why the federal department of transporation is investigating that very company known as swift...
which is why the BBB has nemorus complaints against swift....
Which is why the US labor department has a on going investiagation into swift themselves...
Which is why Swift has to contstently pay out money to both innocent motorists and drivers for equipment that they do not properly take care of...
Which is why Swift will always be the same way they are a very shady company with no morals or values to the drivers or thier families....
Swift has on many occasions allowed sexual harrasment towards female drivers....
Swift has been know to fire drivers for being pregnate...
Swift has been known to harrass the drivers families when they call in asking general questions...
Swift has also had to shut down several of its own schools because of fraud.......
So dear sir I would like for you to really look into your sources and really come up with a fair debate without attempting to suck ### for swift...
Its only black and white there is no grey area....
It is what it is...Swift has no intention of making things honorable nor do they have any intention of doing business the correct way....
Again....Please check other forums and web sites that will co-inside with my postion....
thank you
