I'm getting it in the next week or so. I have a work-only smartphone (older Verizon android phone reactivated on Straight Talk). The feature I'm interested in, aside from covering a lot of Northeast states I run in, is that it clears for mobile scales, and roving DOT according to their website. Interested to try it, definitely, and they're advertising a 60 day trial.
My spider sense is just a bit twitchy, though. I'm definitely going to be checking this app out closely. I color inside the lines most of the time, but even so, I don't really want to give random troopers in whatever supported state I happen to be passing through an always-on tracking beacon.
Drivewyze Is it the new pre pass??

one thing i got to thinking about. and will have to see if the answer is on the websight.
how is the info. transmitted? gps, bluetooth, wifi, or the internet chip. my tablet isn't internet. and the play store has toggle switches that can be downloaded to turn whatever chip it uses for transmitting. put the widget on homescreen.
i'm thinking about giving it a whirl myself. they've got 17 states right now. takes the place of prepass AND norpass. and integrates into peoplenet.
they've had 50 mill in funding and just picked up another 7 mill.
i can see this giving serious competiotion to prepass and norpass. -
got it. it requires internet.
no using my tablet. -
well, i signed up. went by the scale 3 times today. green light. and no troopers chaseing me.
course, i was bobtail twice. con trailer once. but it only has 500 pounds inside. nothing to really test, load wise yet. -
Asking a DOT officer if it works will be invalid. As every officer has a different interpretation of the laws.

I have done beta testing for this company. The product is pretty cool.
You can always pull up the last bypass information (GREEN or RED) in the event of LE pulling you over asking why you ran a scale.
What I dont like?
On Android (unknown on iPhone) - There is a log file kept on the phone. It contains tons of gps data and gawd knows what else.
I complained to them that this wasn't cool - no way to shut this log file off, but they insist its only for troubleshooting.
One nice thing, is this app can be totally turned off if/when not wanted to be used vs the PrePass - which even when wrapped in tin foil seems
to still be able to communicate to the scale house.
The initial price was right - but they since raised the price to the point where its not cost effective vs PrePass but each product has it's own
strength and weakness. -
where do you find that file. my version don't seem to have anything other then the basic info related to the app.
didn't catch the price in the beginning. but they defenitely need to add more states to justify the price.
with an occasional colorado and new mexico, it's not worth just for utah. (for me) and i don't see how it can work in nevada. i haven't seen any type of technology on there check stations yet. throw in idaho, wash, ore, and cali. and i'd be more interested. -
On Android phones if you use a file utility (such as ES File Explorer) to view the internal storage, there is a Drivewyze folder and in that is a readable txt file containing what I consider sensitive data.
I delete the file, it is re-written on the next startup of the program.
I am not aware if or where a similar file might be located on iPhones due to the lack of any ability to view files/folders inside the phone. -
Same here, checked on it sometime last year and was very limited to states which recognized it.

PrePass has more to offer currently I think. They have a fuel card and on our drop yard we have prepass gates Which uses the same transponder to open the gate.
