As the late great Hunter S Thompson said " when the goin gets weird the weird turn pro"........
And I have had quite a bit of practice---Lol
But I must say•--my ability to amuse myself---has helped in keeping what tiny bit of sanity I have left.......& if I amuse others in the process.......well that don't make me no bad guy.......LMAO

My gps works perfectly in NYC. I dont like NYC since it takes 10 hours to drive 100 miles. I must be very lucky when cars park illegally on the corner of the streets but I jave about three inches of space that I can use to get by.

Yes avoid using a car GPS . Friends of mines have done it and were stop by an officer before entering the 12 ' Midtown tunnel . So the ticket was more expensive than if they had bought a truck one... Learn the directions. East and west are confusing because I-278 is not straight. When you go from the Verazanno you head for Queens ...coming back Staten Island. Watch for low bridge signs on I-278 near Atlantic. both directions, just stay away from the curved wall to ceilling and you will have 13 ' 6 " . If you are on I-278 east in Queens going to the Bronx, wait for the sign "3 axle trucks take next exit " stay on side road and straight ahead to R. F . Kennedy / Triboro bridge. Especially for Long Island ,it's a good idea to sleep at the Customer. Just Watch for night time noise ...Some are "delicate" subburbs ! For directions , learn the bridge names as is often the key element in road signs ( ie if you get out of long Island on I-495 Watch for Throgs Neck and after the toll Watch for the George Washington Bridge direction ...it ' s less confusing )

11 years experience? Consider working for someone who doesn't go there.

Find a safe place to set your purse down and take the wheel with both hands. I just drove 70 ft beams with 20 ft of rear overhang and 6 ft of front overhang to 3 job sites in downtown LA surely your not affraid of driving a little 53 ft in New York. :biggrin_25512:

If you don't want to go to NYC then just tell them NO. They aren't going to put a gun to your head.

I hate that my country has been neutered.

I love NYC, I would take 34 hour resets there if I could go OTR just to enjoy Manhattan.
