These things are coming. Im not sure you can fight the technology that is coming down the line.
You might want to focus the fight on the the HOS regs.
so, you think your safe with the elog and hos.

They will just declare and emergency and throw the hours of service out till they are restocked.7.3 cowboy, snowblind, Working Class Patriot and 1 other person Thank this. -
one of the things i hated about the POS'S during my brief use. was having to log in just to fire up the truck for a/c.
and if they take away the personal conveyance. that means parking us permanently on our 34's. no more dropping the trailer to go shopping or a movie or whatever. basically just SITTING. that to me is way overboard.
basically, if we're in the truck. we have to call up anne ferrow to see if it's ok to do SOMETHING. and if she says no. we're screwed.
and THEY can't figure out why no one wants this job. -
It is not a fun document to read. The scary part is that they did the same thing with the last three log hours of service changes and they became fact. -

On Page 7, read.....
All time at a plant, terminal, facility, or other property of a motor carrier or shipper, or on any public property, waiting to be dispatched, unless you have been relieved from duty by the motor carrier;
My carrier has policy in place that once at the dock, I can consider myself off duty, as per the FMCSA regulations above. If I was totally independent, I would be the carrier, so I could make the determination legally as well. Not really my problem some idiot LEO cannot read this stuff for himself and would like to put me OOS. No problem. A speed dial call to my attorney, and Barney is not going to feel so proud about how he does his job. -
