Yes the one I'm looking at has no apu, but it has park smart I think. Not totally sure about that.... I emailed him and said, needs an apu.... Jeez 1800$?

My company truck had park smart. Not a bad alternative. Of course it's not an APU, but it did keep the truck nice and cold without having to idle. Depending on the outside temp, would last between 8 to 12 hours. It does nothing to charge your batteries though.

Don't go parksmart when it fails it's expensive repair. The cabinet behind drivers seat has to b removed. Royal pain.

Not to mention being woke out of a dead sleep because your truck starts on its own. That would be a pain, too.

Parksmart would be better at keeping your truck cool when parked than my tri pac E. Also had parksmart on my company truck. Tri pac E was $5000.00 it would cost me about $6000 to switch over to diesel APU if I can talk SFI into it first .. Not sure if it is worth it just yet ..

Moosc has a point here. I would check warranty on it .. With my tri pac E I do get 4 year Warranty on the batteries at least. Those are the most costly to replace. So far everything that has gone wrong with it has been covered under warranty.

They had a 2014 Evolution with the newer diesel powered apu, it's a little pricey, but you will get the diesel powered one without the extra cash. Also there will be a 2013 and a 2009 Cascadia available toward the end of May that has the tripac diesel. Check back Monday or so, their inventory updates daily. Don't just settle for whatever, get one that at least has some of the things you are looking for. I really didn't want to wait until the end of May, but I really didn't see anything that stood out to me that would be available till then. I almost went with the evolution that I mentioned at the top since I'm starting with a 1 year lease, but at the same time I'm hoping to be able to finance the residual at the end or maybe move up to a T680. It's all about what you are looking to accomplish. Good luck with whichever truck you choose and there are a lot of helpful people on here to get input from.

Came out of house now grabbed my load going up to Patterson CA. Also, just got my alignment done and now hitting the sack here at Lebec CA Petro "Wheeler Ridge"

There's another item done on my things to do list for the truck. Cost for Alignment (my rear axles were out a little) $211.00. I had the complete 3 axle alignment done!

    Wheelwell and Drifter42 Thank this.
