2-lease to make sure you like it, then purchase
3- probably not. If you have a truck, some companies lease trailers.
4- depends on where you want to be. Big Springs is pretty hot right now. Pretty decent for owner ops as the detention pay isnt too bad
5- if you work 6 on 2 off should gross 1500 a day in rural TX, 1000 to 1300 near cities in TX, OK and KS

    Arky Thanks this.

Theres tons out there, I purchased my first truck and went to work in 72 hours. Most people dont want it bad enuf or think they will earn big bucks right off the bat. Like anything else, ya gotta learn and earn. I run all night long. I dont walk, I multitask the best a guy can. I talk to people that will teach me, not ##### to me. I try to do a lot of the work to my own truck, i wont own a truck with emissions so I wont have that expense.
So many new owner ops down here think they can steer a truck all day, add lights and chrome on payday, do nothing and complain when they go broke.
If you havent hauled crude before, there are a few companies that will train an owner op. Best bet is to company drive, learn the oil end, build up cash cause the repairs will never stop and go for it! I have a buddy that went from CDL skool to Pacer to owner op in 6 months. It can be done if you work smart and hard.
    Sorry for rambling........
