I did the math with the .26. Like Sunshine said, you have to take what they tell you with a grain of salt. Summer time you should get that no problem, but things slow way down in the Winter.

I can't really answer that because I haven't been on a reefer fleet. I've just pulled one a few times to help them out. Some guys like reefer, some guys hate it. I'm on dry van and I love it. Just try what you want to try and go from there. You can switch it up after 6 months I believe.

I set my cruise at 62 and off I go. Get great fuel mileage and stay out of trouble that way.

At .26 yes you wont make much if you get less then 2000. I am hoping she is right that it will be less then 20% that you will touch van. I don't mind sitting and unloading as you get paid over 2 hrs. By the time winter roles around I should be up to .35 cpm. Either way if things don't work out I can always switch but it should be fun. Just hope I get used to Chicago LOL.

Never use cruise. Fuel mileage is fine.

They figure the offset is the other pay for drop n hooks and live load pay which is not paid on national fleet.

I was having trouble trying to find a fleet that didn't slip seat so that's why I think I am going to do the otr refer so I can hopefully be home every 11 to 14 days and still get good mileage. That's why I keep asking questions because I want to stay away from slip seating. Thanks for everyone's input.

The people were really cool where you pick up and deliver but after you put the poison placards on the trailer, see all those totes and start reading all damage it can do to you if exposed to it. Forget it, it just wasn't worth the money.
