I don't think they are worse I just don't think they will hold their value like the others and the resale value is important.

Hyundai is the cheapest manufacturer out there. I dont really know a whole lot about thier longevity. Ive pulled Stoughton and Utility most of my career, they seem to hold up well in the long run.

the company that first produced the under tray is currently in a class action lawsuit. They claim 10%+ fuel savings, but the reality is 2-3%. They fudged a lot of the testing paperwork. I have noticed 0 difference with an under tray, but a notable difference with a side skirt. It made a big difference when headed in to the wind.

Im pulling an 07 great dane right now. Same one i pulled since i started. Rides decent, only had obe problem with the hack job they did on the marker lights, apparently they havent heard if weather proofing connections... The tires are a hodgepodge. 4 repurposed drive tires, 4 recaps.

Pretty sure im gonna get a "talking too". Im running a Covenant load tomorrow back to Tn. They called me and wanted me to allow them to track my cell phone while under the load! I have and pay for a Covenant qualcomm! I told him no. Besides the qualcomm it just goes against everything i believe. I dont use any gps features on my phone, yes i know it can still be tracked, but it just rubs me the wrong way. They say they delete it after the load, but thats not the point. I guess I will see what happens Monday, Heck i still havent been told what the load even pays...

And what happens if the forget to delete it? I don't like the idea of someone tracking my phone

Pound Puppy is this the first Covenant general freight load you have hauled?

I thought you guys would haul more Covenant loads so you would not be sitting.

I liked the idea of you guys having access to those loads. I am curious what the rate is.

I do not like that you took the load without knowing what it paid.

Thanks for the info. This is an interesting thread and I hope you keep giving us accurate information.

I'm curious. If they called you and they already have your phone number can't they already track you? I thought all they needed was your number to track you. I agree it's BS

Some of the brokers and 3PL's require it. Refuse it and they won't load you again. It's not a big deal can easily be enabled or disabled. I work with one who requires it on every load but they never use it on mine anymore. Do an A1 job communicating every step. Normally use email like a qualcomm - arrival at shipper - loaded, BOL#, pieces, weight, ETA - arrival at consignee - etc. Or if I can't do that call on every step. Good documentation for detention if needed. Everyone likes it cause hardly any drivers focus on the small but important details like that. Communication is everything. On time with ineffective communication can be cause for service failure on some loads - you read that right doesn't matter if you pick/deliver on time if you don't call in or email the updates every step it's a service failure. If they want tracking give it to them they're paying the freight you're providing a service. Otherwise best to not accept the load.

In this case they already have tracking in the form of the qualcomm. I keep goo lines of communication, im never late. In the case I was doing what you do RC I would have a seperate business phone.

Yes its the first Covenant general freight load ive hauled.. We have done some expedite for Star who is a subsidiery of Covenant.

They do this sometimes they book the load and dont know what it pays, which im not clear on. Its only backfired once. But if its booked im not gonna screw them and refuse it after the fact. Granted it does bother me not knowing the rate.

I can care less who tracks me. When I am talking to my oldest son on the phone I usually say "Al Qaeda" and "bomb" at least once to screw with the NSA guy who now has to listen to our entire (usually hilarious) conversation.
