If I were to lease a truck I would lease it under my Llc not as sole proprietor. I already have an Llc that isn't currently doing anything so I might as well use it and this way my personal finances are separate from my business finances. You know that old saying " you don't eat where you....." well you know the rest.

I might just be impatient but since I have only one response to the question I'll post it again so it is on the latest page of the thread:

We are married with 2 kids also but we have another source of income that gums up the works. And no LLC so we lump it all together. Thankfully there are plenty of deductions so what we get for money and what we claim is different. They do have a tax section on the forum someone might be better to anwer your question there. We also don't do out taxes we pay ATBS to do them.
Broccelli Thanks this. -

I almost went to work for a companhy that was going to force me to use ATBS, back in the days of paper logs, and when I found out what it al entailed, like copying every page of my logs at my expense, and then just right it off, and then what they wanted to charge, almost triple of what my CPA was charging, there was no way. I even walked out of orientation. Plus my CPA has family that are O/O so she does keep up with all that is going on.

I like Swift for the most part, good loads and never have to sit as I did before with another company. I am leased onto Swift , but I purchased my truck through an outside source (Lone Mountain), which was right for me. Monthly payment is only $1,395.00/month for 45-months, no balloon payment at end. And my monthly insurance is only $295/month which includes roadside assistance.

Sorry, it took me so long to reply. -

Many of the bigger companies use TruNorth, then charge the driver a surcharge to handle the administration. They also have an affiliation for a Roadside Assistance program at $28.00/month that I have utilized 3x, and has paid for itself already.
Lady K Thanks this.
