It's getting hotter out and I was wondering if my bunk heater in the 2012 freightliner is able to blow cold air. The thing is finicky and takes awhile to kick on and I have to sleep. I would just idle but the truck doesnt let me do it for more then ten minutes or so. I was just wondering.
do bunk heaters blow cold air as well?

Just curious...... can you chock the wheels and release the brakes and idle?
My truck will idle if I set the high idle. If left on the low idle it dies in 5 minutes. But if the brakes are released it won't stall...zoekatya Thanks this. -
or maybe pull red button and push yellow button .... ?

If that's not something the co. has done to the truck, have it repaired.

To the op ... it takes more energy to get a/c, you need to drive a compressor ... which is why you need some kind of apu, either one with a big battery bank that will likely still die in 10 hours, or the small diesel engine apu mounted to your frame, or you could create your own solution with a gasoline generator/portable ac unit vented to a window ... there are a few threads about various ways this is accomplished ... But if you are a company driver, just find a way to let it idle, it really doesn't cost all that much extra as long as you are only idling as absolutely necessary ...

I had a wabasto or an Espar that you could either use the heat or just turn the fan on and circulate the air around.
