This statement alone discredits all your other statements. Most people that have untreated sleep apnea do NOT know that they have it. I sure didn't, and my apnea was severe.

Well here is a test for sleep apnea that doesnt need a doctor, but based on their criteria for doing testing, go under the truck and do a proper grease job if you cant your BMI is too high and you most likely will have a sleep disorder.

Well, all I know is before the test I never got great sleep even in the best conditions. Would fall asleep on a dime. Snored to high heaven. 6'0 300 pounds when diagnosed. Now that I have my machine haven't slept better. Sorry if those of you whinning that is a scam don't believe me but that is just how it is.

there is absolutely no evidence sleep apnea causes accidents. Let's face it. This is what it's all about. If, and it's a big IF, that it did cause accidents then let's get everyone tested, including the folks that drive 4-wheelers. Are they immune from this condition? So why pick on us? Some trucking cos such as Schneider have decided in their infinite wisdom to mandate testing, and that's their prerogative, but again, there's no law in place, as yet. It's going to take awhile for it to happen. Unfortunately I'm of the opinion that this kind of thing is another excuse for some of us to exploit and will make them a lot of $$$. That's just the way it is in this country when it comes to healthcare. Greed and profit over rides common sense and taking care of the genuinely sick.
