You work for them?

But I moved on. The claims dept has a way of wearing most of the drivers out. -
In the process of joining TM. My higgest concern is the tolls. They say they us PCMiler, but will they base the calculation on the shortest route (which often have the highest tolls), or on the pratical miles?
-
What about tolls?
-
You pay the tolls. Your a contractor. I been with TM 3 months and haven't paid a toll yet. Most hubs you can get to without taking toll roads. As far as the miles, every trucking company uses shortest route. My miles are usually pretty close to what they give me on my load sheet.
rpcrown Thanks this. -
Thanks, sounds good. On my way to my first TM Deck job out of PA. So let's see how it goes. Any other tips you could give me would be highly appreciated!
-
Your gonna pay a few tolls here and there. Sometimes it's better to just use the toll road as opposed to finding a way around. Chicago for instance, it's like 32$ to go straight thru to Wisconsin(up 39/90). If you go around the tolls you'll burn that up in fuel easy.
Out of pocket: tolls, permits, tags, fuel, taxi, motel and of course claims. The thieves are the worst, stealing tires, batteries and whatever else. Good luck.rpcrown Thanks this. -
Sorry, been driving, able to answer properly now:
First, thank you for your input.
I understand all the costs are on me, including tolls etc.
I also understand TM pays and takes care of IFTA.
Please elaborate on the tags and permits?
Thank you for your time.
