Your comment prime example of why I have a beef with some of you know it all drivers. You brag like you know it all but don't explain in detail. Y'all act like maybe giving a secret to maybe 10 people that read this thread will steal your possible GEMS as you say. Me on other hand an open book and really love the feeling I get helping others drivers so we the 0/0 's can try to grow and NOT diminish to keep from being eliminated by all these laws trying to affect us further. I understand I and others have to learn but why not help cut the learning curve for us as you know it's to expensive to do that learning curve compared to y'all learning it years ago when cheaper to do so. But no it's a big secret, let's be a bragger. REDICULOUS!!!!

It really ain't rocket science. Do what others are unwilling to do. If you desire bankers hours with the simplest of requirements no surprises that's what most other drivers look for also. Now why would anyone pay a rate on that when everyone is scrambling to do loads like that? Exactly. If you happen to cover loads on occasion with over the top rates that are simple and have bankers hours now and then, well, you've just figured out a hot market. No-one can tell you cause that stuff can change daily or hourly. You just have to be out there in the trenches learning this stuff.

I agree it changes constantly. And I do understand not wanting to give all secrets but point I was making is it's not like a million people going to read this particular thread and get your secrets while helping a few like me get thru learning curve quicker and cheaper than you all have in cheaper days to learn. Besides your helping to keep an 0/0 's from going under and keeping us strong. Now I know we're all different but if I have to give a secret to a 0/0 to help in stay in business, I'm more than willing to do so. And to see that person succeed from my knowledge is priceless. Cause by not helping as much as you can without holding our hands all your doing is eliminating other 0/0's and helping the Gov.&megas grow .....JMO.

Some markets are always hot, pulling a flatbed from the Midwest going east always pays top dollars specially like what Rollin coal said when a load requires more work(extra pu,multiple drops, tarps etc..)also what time of the day it is or what day it is.if you pulling a reefer you have to learn the different seasons for different freight for every region of the country.Dont be afraid to deadhead two or three hundred miles for a good load and be professional and polite and don't get offended by what brokers may say,lot of times they call me back agreeing to the rate I requested.lot of guys will tell you to build a good relationship with one or two brokers but I totally disagree,I will haul for whoever pays me more.keep an eye on the load boards thru out the day and if you c a load that aain't moving that's a sign:the broker may be willing to pay a little extra to move it.

I get ya . And thanks to you RC,Chinatown , foxcover , Blair/ Gretchen and many others, I have learned tons and applying to my venture for sure. I'm in Florida and we both know I might have to travel many miles to get to decent freight. Going to get worse. 2 amazon warehouses within 30 miles of each opening soon and both have hundreds of unloading doors. So now I have to compete with hundreds more a day in my area to get loads out in a already cheap market area. Luckily I hope my directs I lined up will still be loyal to me when I need them. Time will tell. Hope all is safe out there.

I never say I know it all, but I do know how to find my own freight! If you move cheap freight it's on your. I have over the years help many drivers with a helping hand . I don't know why you wanted to come at me but at that's ok. After a few years on the road maybe you will understand.

Your comment prime example of why I have a beef with some of you cry baby drivers. Stings a little don't it.

That Amazon warehouse nearby could be a boon to you if you keep your eyes peeled. Especially for a couple of months before and after new years. They will pay anything to move that stuff from one DC to another at the last minute. Just one of many I can recall doing several months ago picked up at 10pm and ran straight thru to delivery 235 miles away, 1 pallet with what appeared to be a dozen or so boxes shrink wrapped on it, 500 lbs, $1,600 gross rate. Easy money. But you have a lot of babies that tell you they want to go to bed early and get up in the morning to work. Same load during the day probably doesn't even come close to half what I got on it. So there you go. You know what to watch for. Doesn't matter who the broker is and don't believe their bs trying to cheapen you they make a killing too.

I agree with you and I'm not scared and will be learning. Not crying. But your the ones bragging averaging 2.50 to 3 a mike. Why not help and tell only the few on here reading this thread? Not like your posting the secret on tv for millions. Back up the bragging. Help a few. I'd do it for you than rather see you suffer and lose your truck and diminish the 0/0 population than to worry about one little truck operation stealing your freight. What maybe 1-2 might even be in your area of your secret if we even remembered this conversation down the road. That's my point is all. Y'all act like you have to market cornered. Bragging on what you average doesn't help me a bit. Yesterday is gone. Today is another day to negotiate for a different load and rate. K I'll tell you as I have told others of what going in Florida. Which all know hard to get good paying freight out. So you have some info to save you from coming down here and not get good freight out. 2 amazon warehouse within 30 miles of each other with over 300 bay doors for unloading. So imagine already bad market here to get out how many more trucks a day to deal with here. Just pre warning so ones that don't know , now knows so they can negotiate a load to this already hard freight market to get load out of can consider before coming. I think that's help. Not bragging on what you average last year. That's history. That's my point.
