Thanks Hoosier Hillbilly. I've just completed my first 8 days with my DI. I'm currently sitting at the Janesville, WI support center while my DI takes his weekend home time.

Unfortunately, I had to wait 10 days before my DI could get to me for a pickup (but fortunately I was getting paid). Our first run out was from Columbus, IN to Loredo, TX. We got hung up in Dallas for a day (got a 34 hr reset in) and then back to Detroit. From there we did a drop in Columbus, over to WV, back to Chicago and ended up here in Janesville. We ran in rain pretty much the whole time except for South Texas.

My DI is pretty demanding but understanding. I am making progress each day and the stress level seems to be subsiding somewhat the more I drive. I've definately learned alot in a very short period of time. Still having little issues with shifting but it is getting better. Also have a ways to go with complex backing situations.

Our days have pretty much consisted of driving and sleeping which is great - not much sitting.

Its actually nice to have a little down time and relax. We're sitting here under a load which we'll deliver on Monday. I'm looking forward to getting back out there and completing my training so I can test out and run on my own...

    Wolfman2412 Thanks this.

Hey bengalman, what are you going to do now?
I didnt go to millis, After I graduated school I started working as a fueler/yardman for greylawn foods for over a month. Its know landscaping time so I went back to work until I find a driving CDL A job. My boss has some Cdl B trucks. This week I tried out a recycling/redemption recover company to see if I liked the physical work. I liked It and now i"m just waiting to go out for whiz quiz next week they said. We'll see. I'll keep looking until I get the call.
    That job pays $170 a day m-f:biggrin_25519:

I hope you are enjoing your time off. I like TAJA, there is alot of good restaurants that deliver there. The fuel desk has other menus that are not by the phone. I just came through there on Thursday, and will be heading to Laredo Monday. As far as the backing goes, don't get in a hurry, take your time and don't forget to get out and look. It will get easier, the more you do it. It just takes a little practice.

trying something else is cool, but to leave a 22.oo hr job. guess you did'nt know how good you had it.

this site warned me about the extensive hours that it would take to do the job, and it all has been true.
