Hey guys
So i got caught up in a bit of a sticky situation. About two weeks ago I traveled to West Valley City , Ut to train and become a truck driver for Central Refrigerated Services Inc./Swift. Long story short after already being there for two weeks, going through all the classes, getting my CDL permit, I was told I failed my DOT physical and came up positive for THC. I am not quite sure why they let the applicants get there permits without even having the results from the drug test, that does not make any sense to me. I pleaded with them to let me retake the test knowing if I was to take it now i would def be clean but they were not hearing any of it. Central told me since I came up positive for THC i can never work for them in the future no matter what I do. They did tell me that if I go to rehab and get a DOT / SAP specialist to sign off on my time spent at the center I could possibly be hired for another company. I need to get a job asap and I really am determined to be a truck driver and I am never touching that #### again, I have invested everything I had pretty much to go to this #### school and maryjane screwed me.
So my question is , what is the best way to get this off of my record or be hired? what steps do I need to take? And what company should I apply to that will hire me after rehab or another program?
Thank You
Really would like to start truck driving please offer me advice!

You probably need to go through a SAP program. And then it'll be a while. To be honest I have to question what hits through your mind when you know you're going to start a job of any kind and have drugs in your system. Ya know what? This job isn't for you. You've already shown an amazing lack of judgement.

By the way. "Maryjane" didn't screw you. You screwed you. Grow up.

There's several companies that will hire you after you complete the SAP program. Even the worst of the worst trucking companies won't hire you until you've completed the SAP program.

Sorry, but marryjane didn't screw you. You screwed yourself when you went in this line of work without giving yourself enough time to get clean 100%. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you need to take responsibility for your actions. You can't be a professional in any field if you blame something else for your mistakes(politicians excluded). Despite this, I feel an adult should be able to smoke weed but not within three days before or when driving professionally. Too much can go wrong.

I hear burger king is hiring. Seriously tho, you aren't getting a job driving without documented completion of rehab/sap.
And even then only the worst of the worst trucking companies will hire you for ten years or so.mje, joseph1135 and Chinatown Thank this. -
Good luck to you! God bless you and your entire family!

Your damaged goods with no experience. Find another line of work because anyone that hires rookies has a stack of apps from drivers that didn't have to complete SAP. Very experienced drivers have problems finding a job after testing positive and completing the program. Chock it up to a life lesson and move on.

Man, you broke the one absolute rule of trucking, everyone one of us truckers know that drugs will literally kill your career. Truckers on average are probably the most drug free workforce out there. Alcohol isn't much better but popping on a drug test is a guaranteed way to have very little chance of being a successful driver. See you may find a job after SAP but the top companies will never take you. But I have to go with Joe on this one. Why, in God's name, did you take a test when you were dirty? Why not wait a few weeks? I just don't get it.
