Yeah, I know what you're saying. The only time my auto downshifts is when I'm applying the brake. It will downshift at 1200 rpm when braking. It will also skip gears upshifting when I'm empty or pulling a light load which is almost never. I pull a tanker so when loaded I'm loaded to the max.

2 identical trucks can have 2 different sofware versions and act completely different in shifting ,even with the same gearbox. -

I feel sure its difficult for those who never drove a manual transmission.
I never had a problem downshifting or upshifting, whether it was a 5 X 3, a 4 X 4, a 5 X 4, 10 speed, 13 speed, 9 speed, 6 speed they actually shift very easy, & very safe. That is if you know what your doing.milskired Thanks this. -
