I'm two-years escaped from Roehl, so my ideas may be dated, but, FM's get rated on the loaded/empty ratio, so it sounds like a dodge for his benefit.

prolly already preplanned on other drivers.

Yeah, flatbed does that on the weekends. holiday weekend, even worse. It should pass soon, unless your FM feels your unreliable. But, honestly, Flatbed starts picking up after this weekend, through Thanksgiving, depending upon how the sales reps go.

Flatbed is also an "Early economic indicator" So, you're going to feel how the general economy is heading about 1-2 months before talking heads start yammering on about it.

Did you pick up your load at oak creek. Just wanted to tell you thanks for all the help you gave me when I first started school and the help I will be asking for in the future now that I am on my own.

What do you other Roehl do when you get to shipper or consignee and they want trailers moved/spotted. Had problem last week, Roehl knew cons had storage trailer to be moved before I could get my trailer to dock for live unloading. Did you ask and get extra pay for extra work?

There's one particular cons you have to move the mt trlr out of the dock then bump the dock with your loaded trlr. I've done it a few times. Not a big deal. Never had a cons or shipper ask me to move multiple trailers however.

I would have no issue moving any ROEHL trailer out of a dock to put mine in.

if the trailer doesn't say ROEHL on it, I will do no such thing without written authorization from my FM via Qualcomm message.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine our tractors are only insured for pulling our own trailers.

as an aside, I would probably also joke with them about "I charge $50 per spot for yard dog duty with my road tractor" ;)

still home, out Tuesday early AM
