    $745 to get the APU fixed and serviced yesterday. ;-/ hopefully the last of the repairs for a while...
    Currently running a load to Vegas.
    My truck is running the smoothest she has since I picked her up. Hopefully she will stay that way !!!

    No real updates to give. Just quietly cruising along as many miles as i can. Truck is running well, still has a hint of vibration, which I will have to figure out eventually. But for now, she is ticking along just fine.
    Got her 1st truck wash in Sacramento at the 49er truck stop. Nice place. A bit more pricey than blue becon, but they not only use pressure washers, but also go over the truck with brushes and wash rags to make sure its fully clean. They also offer tire dressing, rain-x windshield treatments, ect.. (for extra fees)
    Now that I have the new tires/rims, Im going to be making an effort to keep her clean and shiny. I wasn't before, because i didn't want to spend money on the rims that were going to be replaced.
    Anyway. time for bed.

    Oh boy... ::sigh:: Ok, no truck issues, but dang this Fridays load ended up being a pain, and I bet Im going to hear about it Monday. ;-/
    So its a place in Lovell Wyoming, and its a last minute dispatch, so im already late to the pick up... 2 hours later, im loaded, and head to their company scale.... 80,660....yeah... I flat told him I wasnt pulling it that heavy. not happening... So... of course its too late to get a hold of anyone at dispatch, and no answer at our supposed "24" hour line... 2 hours later, they finally decided to pull a pallet on their own...so go back, through the line, and get 1 taken off... re scaling, and im at 78,800...ok...doable... takes a bit of playing around, but I get the load to 12200 steers, 33880 on drives, and 32720 on tandoms.... now, keep in mind, i HAVE 1/2 tank fuel....
    ( COULD have slid tandoms, and hindsight, I should have, but i figured I would cat scale before getting fuel, so I thought I would be ok..i mean, I was only going to LOOSE weight on the drives as I burnt fuel....right? opps. )
    Ok...LONG absurd drive over 14 getting away from there, takes forever with 8% grades.... Hit one DOT scale, they hesitate, but let me go..... Spend the night in sheridan WY.... ok.... Now.. leaving in the morning, hit another DOT scale, and they AGAIN hesitate with me on the scale, but finally give me a green light... Starting to be a bit worried, and running low on fuel, I hit a CAT scale finally... Gues what? Not Even CLOSE to what the scale told me at the shipper.... im 12000 on steers, 34800 on drives, and 31800 on tandoms...
    ::sigh::: I figure i was even MORE overweight before i burned off 1/4 tank fuel...

    Great.... well...at least now im balanced, and can finish the run KNOWING that im legal.......and feeling like I used up all my luck with DOT this week.......JUST before the start of hell week....i mean....Safety week.

    wyoming will let you run 36000 they hesitate to let the scale settle down when it gets that close.

    anyway good luck with the new truck. keep us updated

    Wyoming might, but I was heading to Ohio with that load..... And if I had tossed on more fuel in south dakota without hitting the CAT first... the results would have been bad.

    Ok...Elog rant time.
    Seriously, this system SUCKS in so many ways its not funny anymore.

    #1. A "dimmer" that doesnt allow you do actually dim it as far as needed. You HAVE to park 1st, and go through a bunch of screens to finally turn it down... What If im driving from 45 minutes before sunset, until AFTER sunset? didnt they think i just MIGHT want "full" control over my brightness level when moving, so I can make it SAFE after dark??? as is, I just throw my hat over it until I get somewhere to dim it down properly.

    #2. I don't use its built in GPS, because 4 for 4 times I tried it, It gave me absurd routing. 2 out of 4 routes were over TWICE the distance actually needed. 3rd was 50% more, and the last tried to send me down a road that doesnt exist.... over a bridge that has never existed.

    #3. I guess its upset with me for not using its GPS, because almost daily I hear "BONG, copilot has determined this route is not a truck route, please obey all local traffic laws" or something to that point.... when im cruising down the interstate, or pulling into a weigh station, or into a truckstop, or ect..... Side note, It makes random loud "BONG" noises....completely randomly as far as i can tell...

    #4. It frequently does not accept my transition to driving... I get ready to roll, enter duty change to driving, it says updating, as soon as its done updating, I roll.... and 50% of the time, it Bongs at me shortly, telling me its changing my duty status to driving.... no kidding...thats WHY I already did that you idiot machine.

    #5. well, this morning it finally goofed the other direction, and didnt actually change me from on duty to off duty.. I was about to get ready for bed, and I hear it bong saying I needed a 30 min break.... say what? I was SUPPOSED to be off duty already.... ::sigh:: had to call in and get it amended.

    #6. STOP asking if I have arrived at a stop!!! seriously... I will TELL you when I have. I dont need the system asking me 30 times If I have arrived..... and to make it worse, WHY ask questions about the stop, I CAN'T know the answer to until Im LEAVING.... not arriving...
    who signed for your bill? I dont know yet...im ARRIVING, not LEAVING....
    What is your BOL#? I dont know..Im ARRIVING, not LEAVING with the load!

    #7. I have already logged in... I am the ONLY driver of my truck... why do I need to enter my name into every VI form??

    ok... enough of that... I could go on, but I need to get to sleep...
    Seriously this system is bad.. it REALLY appears like it was thrown together out of different parts, by someone who is NOT a driver, and has NO idea how we work. its a decent concept, but it drops the ball spectacularly in real use.

    go to the navigation. then menu. settings. scroll to sound. then click on mute all sounds. That way it wont bong and think you left the interstate when you didnt. also there is a place in profile so you can tell it that your pulling a 53'

    I hate this too. It doesn't dim down enough. I taped a piece of cloth to it, that I can cover it with when it gets dark.


    Mine makes very loud, rapid beeps for no discernible reason. It's very startling and not safe AT ALL.

    Overall though, it's not as horrible as I expected. I've had mine for a month now and I don't have too many complaints.

    Did that. Then it killed the sound to the email replays as well... as as annoying as the bong sounds are, I find it MUCH more annoying to hunt down a parking spot, only to find out the email was spam.
