I figured it was either that you knew what his truck was, or it was you... -

I got the green light from finance for a new T680 with the TriPac Evolution today. Now to get things wrapped up and an orientation date set ASAP for Green Bay.
I've been crunching numbers on a spreadsheet between new and used trucks with numbers I've found to be pretty accurate over the years and it's basically a wash with more risk and higher maintenance costs in a used truck. I strongly suspect and fear that the maintenance costs on these used trucks with all this emissions crapola is even quite a bit higher than the 10 cents a mile I used to see on other trucks I've owned and simply don't want that risk... And quite frankly, with my disabilities, MHC Kenworth in Clinton and Thermoking in Fayetteville can work on my new truck with warranty while I sit in my recliner and watch my 73" TV and my lease will be up about the same time the warranty expires..... NEXT!!!
I'm too busted up to be turning the wrenches like DFO anymore. Carry on young man, I used to be high speed low drag like you........... Now I'm all drag and no speed LOL.mickimause, tynodine, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -

Be sure to ask about a possible sign on bonus with your recruiter. Just found out we get a $10,000 sign on bonus with the choice plan.... Schneider finance is also putting money in our maintenance account along with matching our deposit on the T680. Decided on a two year lease, getting the inverter installed before orientation at Green Bay and they also said we get to skip two lease payments. Did you pick your color yet? Looking forward to having the tri pac evolution too.

I too have come to the conclusion at this time and era of new emissions regulations that buying new makes more sense for me. I am looking at new trucks and those under 300,000 miles. I have quite a while before I will be buying anything so I will spend that time researching different trucks, engines, transmissions and apu s.
