Thank you I may just do that.I have my diploma somewhere here.I have one the size of a DL and a copy in a nice glass frame.I t's probably in where I have my highschool yearbooks.That was sure a fun time graduation night after receiving my diploma.Thats for another thread..

 

Yep, if anything all of this standardization is marring these kid's potential; its a shame. I was recently offered the opportunity to teach at the local CC; I passed, sticking w/ trucking.

I mentioned a buddy who's out in the oilfield that can get me a job after 1 year experience; has has 2 masters as well, we would rather do this...

 

But they still have to earn their diploma before completing the college course don't they?I think its great highschool students are taking online courses,just that much quicker finding the career they're studying for.Alot of the blue collar jobs a diploma don't mean nothing to what that job consist of like trk driving construction even a fast food restraurant but that's how the work force is.I have yet to know of even one employer that doesn't care if you graduated or not.My brothers son can't find work nowhere.Hes 19.No reason why he cant go back and get his GED,his dad will pay for it.In his case he's just plain lazy.Thinks partying and his gf supporting him is much more fun.

Those are the twin brothers correct?Can you tell me what college they attended that don't require a highschool diploma or GED?

 

I don't have any advice for your about a company that will hire you in your situation. However, I was told by a school called Mid Florida Tech (a state sponsored school) that all you need is a 6th grade level of reading. They offer classes to help you with that. I also know for a fact that in the state of Florida they will give you an oral test for your CDL and endorsements except for Hazmat -but you have to make a special appointment.

I know a GREAT man who is in your situation that is a HARD worker who supported his two sons wonderfully. It took him 5 years to build his own house on his own land that he will eventually pass down to his sons. He is a wise young man( late 30's) with more common sense than many people I know (common sense at so common ya' know). He can learn things just by showing him only one time how to do it. He has a great sense of humor and gets along with everyone. He is far from a loser. He is in class for reading now while working a full time job. He wants to be a trucker.

Some of the people who responded to the OP acts like their ##### don't stink like everyone elses. Open your eyes. There are humans from all walks of life around you that can teach you a thing or two and maybe, just maybe they can even teach you how to be human.

The point is, colleges have the ability to let whoever they want in (look at some of the football players they let in! ); and a pair of geniuses counts.
