what gear do you make a turn in when driving a tractor trailer?

Normally 3rd would pull you righT through

Right turn 2nd-4th. Left turn 3rd-5th. All depends if you rolled through the turn or had to stop first, and how many gears the tractor has..

 

whatever gear gives you a safe and comfortable speed for however sharp the corner is ...

 

Uphill while turning? Downhill while turning? Rolling or stopped before turning? 90 degree turn? 45 degree turn? 120 degree turn? Way too many variables.

The simple answer is that you need to be in the gear that allows you to keep your engine RPM within its power band while making the turn at the appropriate speed for that turn. So evaluate the particular turn, decide what speed it requires, and select the appropriate gear for that speed.

 

I dont shift gears.

 

Hows that work when you're at a complete stop unless u have an automatic?
