I have schizophrenia and I occasionaly have to see a psychiatrist every 5 to 6 weeks. Then I have to take Geodon. Then I have a felony from punching a 60 year old in the cheek [got paranoid], conviction March 2002 - so it's 12 years old.

So do I have a chance at being a truck driver? I'd mostly like local or regional. How much would that pay?

Personally, I don't think I would want to share the road with you.

I get SSDI now so I'm classified as disabled for paranoia. But with Geodon I hardly go paranoid.

If you are in Canada they will not give you a CDL. Best bet would be to call whatever agency issue's CDLs for your jurisdiction.

Can you? Sure. Should you? Probably not.

I applaud your desire to become a productive member of society and I might otherwise encourage you to look for a local employer willing to take a chance on you. But when you combine the history of violence -- 12 years old or not -- with Paranoid Schizophrenia, the last thing I'd want to see is you operating a machine capable of instantly killing scores of innocent bystanders.

Perhaps you would be better suited to work in dispatch, safety or as a load planner.

    Good luck

I guess with schizophrenia I can't be a truck driver. Or else maybe I won't drive when I go paranoid.
