I hear the pay is bad and there no is demand for truck drivers, is this true? I was told to go get a degree in Computer Science or something.

Depends on where you live and what your personality is. Truck driving is both an occupation and a life style and your personality may work with one but not the other.

If you're into programming, then by all means learn IOS and/or Adroid. Trucking is not for everybody, the lifestyle is tough, and the pay is mediocre at best. Better then some jobs, but factor in what your time away from home and family is worth and trucking is a losing proposition for many/most.

No matter what happens stay away from computer science. Ive done it for 14 years and when new technology comes out your boss or clients expect you to be an expert and make miracles happen with little pay since your competing with Indians who work full time for $200 per month. All of the android buzz these days will be obsolete in 10 years. Find a good trucking company like I did that pays very well.
