This is why. Also, by the time I graduate 4 years from now EVERYONE will have a CS degree and there will be no demand for CS holders. I believe less people will have a CDL. People my age dont think about trades it's either straight to college or the military.

Get involved in an industry that people will always need and such as real estate or energy.

Maybe you should start at a career center, OP.
Figure out what you want out of life.

I cant say if trucking is good job to begin in right now .
I can say that in 33 years of trucking I have never been without a job for even one day that I didn't want to be .

I have loved it from day one and still get a pleasure out of it that most will never know in their lifetime.

I went to college for computers. Technology move so fast, what you study in college, will be outdated when you get out. You said you rather do trucking, which show me you like trucking and have a will power to learn and understand how things work. Do what you wanna do or like. I took this job knowing it was a pay cut than my previous job. But I like it and enjoyed it.

Do both ,especially if you are young with no dependents! There is a guy in my class who is studying to be an engineer. He has two more years to go before he graduates. He decided to take this summer to go to trucking school to get some extra money. Granted, his father has been a trucker for years but, so what? He is currently working tables double time on the weekends and/or when we are off from school. It can NEVER hurt to have more than one skill...ever! As far as CS goes, see what other up and coming ideas on are out on the horizon. Do you even like CS? Get to know people who does CS and ask them what the real deal is.What do you like to do? Find out if you can expand on what you like. Hope this helps...Godspeed.
