This actually makes sense considering the fact that trucks 99.99% of the time are thru traffic and are going to be driving the longest distance. Instead, we're forced to travel in the far right lanes where idiots blow past you then cut across your nose to hit the exit ramp at the last second. Then you have the on ramp morons to deal with. Rural areas would remain right lane dominant while urban areas thru traffic to the left. But then again common sense never was very popular.

 

Yet the media won't say anything about doctors and nurses working 24-48 hour shifts, their mistakes kill way more people each year than vehicle accident's and shootings combined, yet no one hollers about an HOS for them.

 

How could this possibly happen with Walmart running governed trucks with EOBR and all the safety options available.
And lets not forget that most important device being used to by pass all scales and inspection stations where maybe and officer had seen him yawning this could have been detected.

 

the EOBR only tells the driver what he can and cannot do, It cant sense if he is tired or what the truck is doing

If this guy was anyone else like me or you we would have never heard about it..... other then there was a crash on the jersey turnpike.
not really sure why the wally world driver was awake for 24 hrs , but yup he is done and will be sitting in the I cant get a job line . Well once he gets out of jail that is..

 

Oh he will find another job sooner or later.
He just wont ever drive a truck again.

 

This is ironic.. I listen to xm radio Dailey . I never once heard an ad for driving for Walmart. But, today I hear An ad drive for Walmart. Looks like they are trying to get there PR in place.

 

Your jumping the gun A little arent you? Your a fellow driver but yet so quick to throw a fellow driver under the bus without this going through a judge and jury and letting the true facts come out... appauling

 

I'm not in any way a fan of Wal-mart but, as far as the drivers they hire go its pretty simple looking at their saftey score and the hiring process that goes into them drivers they hire, they have some good, safe drivers on the road... This driver could have been up all night at the casino and then had to book after his 10 was up... no one knows the details behind his story... As far as Wal-mart having an Ad out today to hire drivers you really think that had to do with the crash in NJ? Get real... Do you know how big of a fleet they have, one accident isnt going to make them go on a hiring spree...

 

Walmart now has to advertise for drivers...never did in the past...that speaks volumes..
