Brother.....headed home to Albany tomorrow afternoon. If you're in the neighborhood, holler. I'll hook you up with a shower, washing machine, a clean bed, and some decent food / company. I'll check back here before I go home.

We are in GA tonight too. In Emerson at the Loves heading to Suwanee tomorrow morning then to Salem for a load going to Marianna FL. Then a couple days off in Talahaasee. Any hotel recommendations haven't made a reservation yet.

I'll be in Albany tomorrow around noon-ish. Same place I saw you last time. Will then get my load going home for the weekend. This time, if I see ya, I will introduce myself to you.

Well ####, unfortunately not headed down to Albany. Headed not too far from there, but it'll be a quick drop and hook and then head back towards Savannah. I really appreciate the offer Dipschitt and sorry I'll miss you again 88 Alpha.

Before I left this morning I checked the load board and didn't see anything I wanted, so I headed off for my pickup in VA. In and out there without issue, then stopped on the way down to have another look at some loads... still couldn't find anything that would work with my schedule. Tried again and ended up finding a load that I had to do a bit of deadheading to pick up that will take me up to Ohio, but then after that found a REALLY good load that'll take me over to Carlisle. Not sure where to after that... might look for a load home, might not. Too tired to think about that now.

Made it down to Savannah tonight only to find the SNI sold off my super secret parking spot... WTF??? Guess its been too long since I've been down here.

Time for me to get some sleep, I'm just plain worn out.

So today I cruised on down 95 until hitting CORRIDOR-Z (not sure where Navigo gets this name from LOL) which I believe is GA-82 and cruised on over to Tifton. This is actually a very good route, 4 lanes all the way across but several towns with 45 MPH and sneaky bears parked in peoples front yards so you gotta be careful. Jill wanted me to goatpath but it was only saving me 20 miles so I just ran the easy way. Smooth sailing getting approximately 800 MPG on this flat ground (I forget just how flat it is down here). Easy drop and hook in Tifton then off to the Pilot of FJ or whatever that truckstop is there. Fuel prices look exact the same as they did yesterday despite SNIs fear-mongering message from yesterday.

I go inside to get a subway sandwich because I'm planning on going home soon and so I'm not going to stock the truck with bagels and stuff until after I leave. Anyway go in and the guy making the subs has a nose that is redder than Rudolf, keeps sniffing the snot back every 5 seconds. Ok, whatever, hes got gloves on. Then I see him cough and gag something up into his shirt sleeve and I decide I don't want my Subway Club with an extra helping of whatever the **** that **** was so I go over to the Steak and Shake. I've never been to a Steak and Shake before so I walk in and it looks like a sit-down place and I can't see how I'm supposed to order my burger to-go so I turn around and leave.

Ok yeah maybe I should have given this place a little more of a chance. Oh well hindsight is 20/20. End up buying a Pilot/FJ branded sandwich from the sandwich machine. Go out to the truck and try to eat it and the inside of the sandwich is frozen solid. **** THIS BULL****.

Start up and leave this piece of **** no good useless *** truckstop and head back to east GA for my pickup. Pick up that load and roast off north back into SC. Cruising at 65 cause I'm ready to get done for the day. For 40 miles some dumb*** 4 wheeler is following me with no headlights on at 9pm. God they are so fricking stupid. Go by the weight station, get prepassed, sit there and mash my interrupter as I go by so that some trooper might look out at my truck and see this moron behind me but no one does. Finally decide I do not want to be anywhere near this idiot so I enter warp speed and leave everything behind.

Drive head on into what looks like the Friday the 13th apocalyptic storm but managed to get to the truckstop, backed into the hole, brakes set lights off JUST as the rain starts. Tomorrow if it goes as planned I will be in Obetz for the night. But maybe not because after dragging the trailer out of the shipper the DVIR finally arrives and its marked no defect by previous driver but says OOS according to the second message, of course I get this after I have left the shipper because SNIs messaging system is run by a hamster on a wheel... that likes to stop and poop a lot. During pretrip I noticed one maxipot is new so I'm thinking that was it and it just hasn't been updated. It does have a questionable tire though. I will stop through Charlotte tomorrow and get the shop to bring it up in their system and see. This better not mess up my week, having a very good week overall considering my slow start.

So, looking at the paper I write my fuel mileages down on here is how I have done since I started this sheet at 375k miles on the odometer

Last fillup at 383863 on odometer

    383863-375659 = 8204 miles

Total gallons fueled = 1190 gallons

    Average MPG = 6.89 MPG

Probably 70% of that past 8k miles is running up and down I-81 from NC to PA. I try to be consistent in running 60 MPH but I have not really been over the past several weeks. I need to govern my truck with my Cummins software and leave the adapter at home, this would save me a lot of money. I simply cannot drive 70 MPH with my low gears and get good MPG.

I will be curious to see how I did on this tank which was running around flat ground on I-95 and other flat routes from NC to GA. Maybe some more running around here and less running up and down I-81 will improve.

Regardless of what preconceived notions people may have about the CM871 Cummins ISX, I kindly suggest that all the naysayers KISS MY ***. Below is the balance in the maintenance account with SFI that I contribute to on a weekly basis.

All she has asked for is regular PMs and a little bit of TLC from me. Not that that couldn't change at any moment... but I am a firm believer that this is a very reliable engine if cared for. The same can be said for the truck as a whole. I baby my truck and it treats me well in return. Drivers that abuse their trucks get treated the same way back.

Ok, maybe I'm tired enough to go to bed now.
