Hello all, my friend is hiring a co-driver and asked me to help him. I advertised on CL for him and got little feed back. He has gone through 5 drivers in the last 18 months. Here is what he has had to go through:

One driver was a trainer for swift with over 15 years experience... he couldn't shift so my friend tried to teach him but he (the driver) became angry and frustrated. Last straw was he damaged the air fairing backing in and he quit! He said take the last paycheck for the damages.

Next driver was sick all the time, meaning he had the party sickness. He hit a curb and damaged the right front tire and threw the truck out of alignment. He ended up quitting and went to rehab. Has tried to come back several times saying he is clean now.

Another driver just never showed up and quit.

He is what he is looking for: start time 7:30pm M-F finish at about 8am-9am everyday. Each driver is responsible to driver about 300 miles a day, basically one way and the co-driver would driver back. You can sleep if you wish.

After hearing about all the nightmare trucking jobs out there this is without any doubt a great position with a real easy going driver. He even offered medical benefits... can you guess what the pay was/is? go ahead take a guess.... after I get some responses I will tell you what the pay is...

BTW the position is still open

Why does your friend need a co driver,600 miles a day is a solo run.Thats too bad he cant find a co driver,300 miles a day is a cake walk.

Naw, you don't go through 5 drivers in 18 months without something else going on. I refuse to believe this. Even wheel holders can make it 6 months with the worst if they put their minds to it.

Sounds like the fellow needs to do a more thorough interview and reference check with the candidates he is considering hiring.
