It started when I would drive long distances working construction, to the next job or home after a job is done. But it never bothered me when I worked so I never paid it much attention.
Now I have been driving for 6 months and it bothers me everyday. I have not seen a doctor yet as I do not have insurance. I will see a chiropractor this coming Monday.
I would get this pins and needles sensation that intensifies into a burning sensation. Right right off my shoulder blade and C7/T1 vertabrae, just below the upper bulk of the trapezius.
Have anyone you experienced this type of problem and what kind of rehab did you go through? Would a new seat, one that does not have 998,000 miles on it help?

No offense but you are driving while impaired. Pain can be and is as much of a distraction as fatigue. Do us a favor and get off the road before it spasms and you jerk the wheel to the left. If you're safe I wont be sorry. Back problems suck.

Yes, get a good high quality seat. Also, wear a back support belt while driving. I wore the back support belt when pulling reefers mostly and it helped tremendously. Also sometimes, not all the time, wore it pulling tankers & it helped with the surge of the liquids sometimes.

i struggled with back problems when i bought a used truck and the seat was beat up. I bought a Knoedler seat which did cost me over $1000 ,it did help immensely but the real help comes from exercise. I'm in flatbed so do get exercise on a daily basis but still what helps is the lower back specific exercises. Chiropractor will help no doubt but the real solution lies with you. Invest money in a good seat and time in daily back exercises. All the best !!

I recommend a chiropractor. A back brace is a good idea and good posture behind the wheel also helps. Tell your doctor that you drive a truck. He'll tell you how to adjust the seat in your truck and might give you a few daily exercises to do as well.
Also- get out of the truck and stretch every couple of hours- my doctor gave me a long lecture about me driving non-stop for 5-6 (and even more) hours at a time.

I know the pain you speak of. I used to get it too. Turned out to be the way I layed my left arm on the arm rest. Hope your pain is that simple.

I've had two back surgeries for Lower back problems. When I started a new job flat bedding about 3 months ago I actually followed my chiropractors advice. I do stretching exercises that she told me to do and the abdomen strengthening exercises. (Sit ups) the back stretches I do everyday before driving which means I get up an extra half hour before work. I do the sit ups a min of 4 times a week. I ####### hate stretching and tolerate the sit ups. Since I started this I also got a new 400.00. Seat. It has worked for me. No serious back pain. Some back stiffness but I'm a believer now and will never go without doing these simple things again. I also had all the shocks replaced on the truck. 800000 miles on the original shockers was enough. Good luck.

Whatever she tells me to do, I will do. I do drive 5-7 hours without stopping. If stopping for 5 minutes every 2 hours helps, then I will get out and stretch.
I am swtiching the almost new passenger seat with the worn out driver seat. I hope that helps. I would love to get a leather seat, I love leather seats. Maybe the boss will buy me one if switching the seats does not work.
It seems that the burning stops, but still aches when I arch my back and press my shoulder blades against the seat. Without lumbar support in the seat, it is hard to keep that posture for very long. The other seat does have air lumbar support.
