How do you have 2 years experience and not realize how absurd this is? You slide tandems based on weight/load distribution -- not gross weight.

Yup. Surprised it took 28 posts before this was mentioned

Yea these companies need to leave the trucks alone. All shed have to do is tell D.O.T. the company disconnected the fifth wheel so she couldn't get it legal. She'd still get the ticket if overweight enough but they might even cite the fact that the 5th wheel was inoperable on the tractor. (I would if I was a D.O.T. Man). If its on the truck it needs to be working, that why they put it on the truck.

OP-if the 100 lbs over is all,you will be fine by the time that you get to Tn. The bridge law is the major factor in this equation.I'd roll with it.you have a better than 50% chance of zero issues from this point. you should not have to skirt all of Tn and if you are over bridge law but don't look it,I would roll with it.get close to each coop and wait on them to close by asking on the cb.i've done that many times. you need to get the load delivered and have this learning experience behind you.

I am thinking that you will be fine.for those that are hung up on the non working 5th wheel, many major companies have fixed/stationary 5th wheels and it has nothing to do with "not working".it has everything to do with saving money when the trucks are ordered. if OP has a stationary 5th wheel, this ordeal has come back to bite not only the driver but the cheap arse company.that load does not pay a thing until it gets delivered.

take the load back to the shipper and have them reload it. no more agonizing over this load.make a decision of what you are going to do and do it. you are putting too much stress on yourself.

Normally i would have slide my tandems if i saw i needed 2 but since my 1st load was a little more than 3/4 of trailer and my new load didn't come as far down as my last load even though it was a few lbs heavier but it didn't fill the trailer like last load this is why assumed all my weight was good and both loads were loaded 2 rows all the way back i dont go by weight this is what i went by yea I do have 2 years and this is my 1st overweight ticket i just got it wrong on this 1 time plus who would have guessed they put the light stuff up front

No it's her fault for not scaling. Besides. She's not overweight

It just depends on the trailer. Ive pulled several trailers in the 13th hole, especially older trailers.

Most trailers I pull. 13th hole is fine. Except California but I don't go there anymore. Lol
