To do this successfully one must be able to be flexible and think outside the box. That entails more than merely breathing. I think that is where most of the failure lies. Yes income may suffer at times, but in the long run the payoff can far exceed the risk.

SEM says routine maintenance, 5000 mile window to get it done. Headed to delivery, then Edwardsville tomorrow night.

When you are OK with the status quo your admitting you have no drive, no passion, nothing to motivate you beyond the mundane. I am all about the money, I am all about my FAMILY for the ones on here who know me such as Dogals right foot Vegasman72 etc.. I am cheap and will make a dollar anyway or how I can so if its by saving fuel or maintenance costs or running SMARTER not harder thats what I'll do. This friday i leave home and I will be back home Monday Night I'll run just over 2k in miles and over 4200 in revenue so 6 speed who's smarter you run all week and I run 4 days and I'll bring home after all deductions about 1900. So please keep working as you see fit as will I but I'll choose the higher paying freight and the company driver's can have the leftovers. I am not bashing company driver's I was one, however if your gonna bash a fellow Choice driver over his posts then I will step up and contribute along side DFO. He does his thread to be helpful not negative as 6 speed has chosen to be.. Carry on

I think that it's just typical truck driver mentality nowadays. Listen to how Drivers talk to each other both in person, on forums and on the CB. You say anything, do anything, positive and you get blasted. I get crap all the time because I dress nice and I always wear a clean, collared Schneider button up shirt. Now I'm "Mr. Company Man and an *** kisser" Or when I'm out doing a pretrip with my coveralls on and I get crap for actually crawling under my truck. "Oh look Schneider can't drive so now He has to pretend He's a mechanic" I go to back into a spot in a truckstop and the CB lights up about how "Dumb*** Schneider is going to try to park" then nobody says anything when it takes me a whole 7 seconds with zero pull up. It's just the Nature of the average truck driver in todays world. If you don't do things their way, See things the EXACT way they do then you're and idiot and don't know what you are talking about.
The SNI choice program is an anomaly in the mega carrier leasing world, methinks. You look at the other threads and there are hardly anyone posting in them and what is there is another horror story about a guy losing his truck or failing his business. You look here in our section and it's people shaking hands and helping. I'm probably the most negative one here and that's something that I have been trying to work on.Shardrk, rholl32, Lone Ranger 13 and 5 others Thank this. -
In all fairness, of someone chooses to blame a carrier for their failure then they should be openly praised when people succeed. Apparently they have chosen to give complete control over their actions and outcomes to others.
Moral of the story? Work had, stay focused and you will be successful.Wheelwell, dieselfuelonly, scythe08 and 2 others Thank this. -

I agree with all posted about nay sayers...last night I was called a super trucker for passing someone while actually doing the speed limit. My reply was...if you were not clogging up the middle lane I would not have had to be in the outside lane to pass... cluck cluck....
