I have a Samsung Tab2 10.1 enclosed in an Otter case I'd like to mount for navigation in a 2014 Prostar, company vehicle so a no drill method is best. Diesel boss has a number of mounts available , but I'm not sure what to buy.
Anyone been confronted with this before and can share what worked for you I'd really appreciate it.

I know this is a pretty good size tablet but my aging eyes need all the help they can get. I would like to think that utilizing one of the three factory storage compartments lend themselves to securing options, but I don't know. At a loss here, thanks.

    Dieselboss Thanks this.

Started out in the smartphone world using Android and just got stuck there I guess. I really like the Tab2, but until I get it mounted it just sits in the bag.
Dieselboss probably has the right mount, I just don't know which one. He emailed some possibilities to me, but without seeing it and knowing the RAM's versatility, I'm at a loss as to which one to get. I'm thinking that in the Otter case the device weighs a pound and a half, and although I'm certain his mounts will handle that weight, the method of attachment is in question.

My old trainer had a Samsung Gallexy (10?) It was the oversized smartphone version of the tablet. He loved it. But all he ever did with it was, watch porn, play slots and read the NY Times on it. Dude got fired a week after I got out of his truck, popped on a urine test. Are you getting popped on a urine test? :)biggrin_25523:huehuehue)

I love Apple products for their stability and ease of use and reliability.

Have you checked out lifeproof cases, yet? I recently got an Iphone 5C, and felt confident in it's ability to be both water proof and shatter resistant on the long term, enough so that I dropped that crappy insurance program that Verizon offers. These things are legitimately water proof up to 6 feet, for 3 hours. They're also crush proof to so many pounds and scratch proof to so many ounces; though in all fairness I do already have a few scratches on the screen after a few weeks with it.

But even with the scratches, I'm still confident it will stay the test of time when it comes to both water and drop resistance. Yeah, you're gonna pay $80 for a single case, but it's very likely to keep that phone in mint condition for at-least a few years.

Found it works amazingly for the Iphone.

I have used Proclip USA mounts for numerous devices in the car and truck for at least 10 years. They are excellent and easy to install without damaging the vehicle in any way. If you choose to buy, be sure to also buy a female locking Move Clip. This way you can quickly change device mounts should you ever decide to buy a new device that requires a different holder.

apple is overpriced and over rated. you can't do anything that android can't do. so there's no ease of use for anything.

there, are, however. lots of hoops and restrctions for apple. android isn't such a stickler.

$500 for apple and restrictions. $100 for android and do what ever the heck you want. they both do the exact same thing as far as apps goes. provided the apps are allowed on apple.

Snowyy, do I remember reading that you have a tablet mounted in your truck?
I still haven't narrowed down what mount system to buy for my Tab 2. The proclip seems like an easy install. But Ram has a very satisfied customer base as well and Dieselboss carries the Ram. I'd love to give him my business as he is a valued member of this forum. Also I question the strength of the dash area on my International Prostar where the Proclip would attach, as my tablet is in an Otter box and therefor heavier than an unprotected tablet.

i HAD an asus android. in a t660. it was wire tied to the dash trim above close to the roof. just above my head.

i'm using a unactivated sprint note 2 now. sits in the cubby dash of the freightliner. but i'm looking for something to mount it above the dash so i can use it as a camcorder feature also. people are getting REALLY dangerous out here.

right now. i only use it as my gps using copilot software and some others i'm checking out.

This is out of thread, but I have the new Garmin dash cam and I love it. I can't believe I gave Garmin more of my money after my disappointment with the the Dezl GPS, but I like the cams ease of use.

I have Copilot for cars right now on my new tab and I absolutely love it. Will be upgrading to Copilot trucks when I find a mount.
    Thanks for your input.

I currently have a Galaxy Tab 3 that I use for my GPS using copilot, and AutoGuard as a dash cam. Its mounted with a GoPro mount onto the windshield below my sight line. Thats in my current company 4wheeler vehicle, so its gonna be different once I get in my company truck, but I would imagine it will be very similar. Ive used Apple products over android, and Apple products do work as well as android. The choice is subjective towards the user. I like keeping more of my money so I stay away from Apple as much as possible. I also know a fair amount more then the average user, so using custom ROM's on a droid product is more my style.
