A lower rate at twice the miles a solo would drive usually amounts to more money. If the miles are really there...

That's true,if the miles are really there which is a BIG IF.Think companies like Werner you're best taking dedicated division,at least you know what your checks will be every week and I think home on the weekends.

I'm running their I-5 South dedicated division, basically all of California from Sacramento to LA. I do know the routes and customers but I'm home every other weekend. Trips to Oregon and Reno on my check coming in tomorrow bumped my weekly mileage from 2400 to 2900, but im only getting $544 take home. I ran my hours as far as I could and I feel I shoulda made at least $600

Good lord kid, you find your pay rate by what they pay BEFORE TAXES. You don't blame Werner cause uncle Sam takes 4-6 cents a mile. Use some common sense. If you are bringing home over $500, you are making over $700 a week gross. Same as all the other new guys.

In fact, everyone else is posting their paychecks with the pay rate on them as PROOF. Why don't you do the same?

People do know what Werner pays, either on the website the recruiter or once they get out there. So it shouldn't be of no surprise when they see their pay checks.Werner has never stiffed me either, always reimbursed me and only recall one time Werner shortened my check but got it on the next check. But once you're there for so long and prove to the company you're doing a good job, they should pay more but they don't.I do think the starting wage is ridiculous but also who ever starts Werner is well aware what they will be making. The op now has some exp and I do side with him on the pay,he should be making more.Yes uncle sam takes money out but Werner should also compensate alittle for it.

Round that off to the nearest dollar, you were making roughly $10.75 an hr take home. That pretty standard with companies.Thought you was working more then 52 hrs a week.Consdiering the numers of hrs you worked, thats really not too bad for Werner.Try the otr division, there will be weeks you wont even make half that.

Yeah it was a good week. When I first started I was doing western regional and was making $325/wk, it was terrible.
