You would have to read the original post I put. Saying They Suck is an attack on people. We being the as drivers for Abilene do not suck. If he feels Abilene sucks then he should specify. Abilene is an "IT" a company is a thing. "They" refers to multiple people. Not a business. Oh well done now. Doesn't really matter anymore. But if you can't take it don't dish it out. And for the record before any on else misread or misinterprets what I say no Abilene does not "suck"

My camera goes off all of the time. Matter of fact it went off 3 times on I20 in LA today with the roller coaster road. Do I get called into safety? Not once.
Orientation is a day and a half. That is used as a "weed out" function. If your gonna cry about that then you'll cry about anything. I sat longer for a 34 reset then I did in orientation. "They" want drivers that want to be here not ones that will waste their time.
Fire on the spot if my truck is seen dirty? It is dirty all the time, up until just lately I haven't had time to stop long enough to wash it. I had a window issue and they got it washed before they got my window fixed. Other than that the rain, like today, washes it as I left the yard at 1030 yesterday and deliver at 10 tomorrow pushing 1400 miles.JohnBoy, The Challenger, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this. -
Very well put JB it is different for all takers but you know after all the years you have in this industry you get what you give.

I dropped my trailer last night at 7pm, at the wrong place.....lol. Oops, yes folks, even I make an occasional mistake every once in a while. I got to my delivery, I called in 3 times yesterday asking about this drop, and all three times I got the same answer, it's the warehouse across the tracks from the yard by UPS. Ok cool, I get there, the dude tells me to blindside it into door 3, then just drop it. I mean how hard can this be, we only have 25 dropped trailers there and our yard jockey shuttles trailers all day and night from there to our yard, a mile away. I get to the yard, park my truck, then go in to see Jonathan. As we are going over available loads we start bs'ing about the drop I just did. Come to find out the load goes to another plant, #### said I. Now here is why I like it here, one of the local drivers was in the office with us and told me, who was on my way out the door to get my truck, to go get the wrong placed trailer and take it where it needed to go, told me don't worry about it, he will go get it. We discussed the fact that I made the mistake and I would do it, he said no, he'll do it. I finally gave in and thanked him.
Here's the dicey part, he gets there, calls in to Jonathan and explains to him the trailer isn't in door 3, where I put it, in fact it isn't on the property, now I'm sweating bullets. Jonathan said don't worry, it'll show up. Right said I. We finally get me a load going to El Paso for Monday, a nice 1950 mile run over the weekend. It was down at our customer loaded, which is across the street from where I should have dropped my trailer. I get in my truck, bobtail to where I should have dropped the trailer and low an behold, there it is, up against the dock with about 5 of our other trailers. Ok, time to stop sweating the bullets. I went and got my trailer and came back to the yard, went in and told Jonathan I found my lost trailer, and due to the fact I was now emotionally drained, I was going to bed. It seemed I was more concerned about the trailer then he was. Right now I'm getting ready to leave, I have 3 days of 650 miles to do.
I have to throw out a little sarcasm, I just got my clean truck washed here at the yard, so dude from post #2223, I think I saved my job. Oh, one more thing, the subway sandwich you were complaining about? You should have stayed a little longer before you quit, we had a huge company wide cookout last week with the usual hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, sausage, and ribs, along with everything else involved with a barbecue. Maybe the money the company saved buying you that subway sandwich allowed them to put that big spread out for about 150 of us. I'm outta here.Lonesome, DevilDog79 and master yoda Thank this. -
Ok, I promise, this is it for today. Here's who I spoke with on the phone, and texted with yesterday, and saw at the terminal,
Master Yoda (Eric)
Yard Dart (Jeff)
Scooterdawg (Mark)
Truckin Monkey (Shirley)
BigBrin (Craig)
Jazz (Joe)
I must say, we have a pretty cool group of people here.DevilDog79 and master yoda Thank this. -
