    I will be leaving JCT. My last settlement was in the negative, and with two more negatives coming in the next two weeks due solely to that dynasys APU requiring more attention than a newborn baby, I have chosen to cut my losses and leave the industry completely. I doubt ill see any of my MX/perf fund as this APU debacle has got me in such a deep hole.

    I have no animosity, as the APU selection was outside of my control. However I can not overlook the financial negatives. I have found in this company a great collection of people, and will miss the professionalism that they have shown. If you are making it with them sick around, I unfortunately was hit with a bad situation.

    I am gonna miss this, without doubt.

    Good luck. I got like $173 back from my maintence fund after the shop wanted to fix everything. Oh well it was fun, I left the industry too but got dragged back in to run auto parts for VW 1 day a week.

    Why dont you just get rid of the APU and keep on trucking? You dont NEED an APU. I drove for over 2 years without one. A few neg checks when something breaks in not un heard of for an o/o. You could do better if you stop sinking money into the malfunctioning apu.

    Jack is pretty good about working with drivers that are in a tough situation with their equipment. I'd have been pestering him for a different truck due to the constant APU issues.

    To use his phrase, "you're not married to that truck."

    Hope that driver jackknifed on I20 in TX at the 209 yesterday is allright. Saw the JCT trailer. Same for the driver that went over the side. Must have been a hydroplane.

    an apu that is under warranty hasn't caused you to have negative settlements, the dynasys is independently installed from the truck, the truck will run fine . the problem is more than likely lease purchase payments, and being on a .90 something cents per mile and fuel surcharge payment plan.

    but that is a new one, a broken apu caused someone to get out of trucking.

    The APU will have me shutdown for a minimum of three weeks. AS JCT drivers know that is a not insignificant amount to be stuck in the hole. As of this morning I checked with Sterling and he is still truck heavy. One of the other problems is when I go for hometime, I usually have to deadhead (No pay DH) 400 miles one way as the majority of the loads to get into FL are finaling in Orlando and south. Loads to the northern Gulf Coast are rare, as in iridium rare. The APU was just the straw if you will. If I lived along I-40 or I-20 the pay works great. It just cant work this far off the lanes. Given I cant afford to move, like I was planning to the economics just don't work.
