Week 2 done, first week with trainers. Drove on my route for 2 days. Still easy. Had one day running coils from Pittsburgh out to Stuebenville, OH, so that our b-train drivers and heavy haulers can take several out. If you get a chance to move to company that runs side kits, I'd recommend it. Side kits rock. Then spent 2 days on the wallboard fleet. Hardest part of that is folding the lumber tarps. They are all preloaded and tarped. All you have to do it tighten the straps and go.

I'm testing out on monday. Hopefully should be in my own truck by wednesday and start making some real moneys.

Being paid percentage is nice. Early this week I made over 700 in one day. Granted thats a fluke amount. We didn't need or want the load. They begged us and they excepted the huge number for the load.

Still overall iam making much better than when I was still at roehl. Its nice being local and running off a time sheet instead of logs. Only have to log everynow and than when we take a few longer runs.

A guy I went to orientation with told me his second day with his trainer they got an od load that paid approx. $6600 to the truck. He was on training pay so he only got his $100 for that day, but his trainer got his normal percentage rate plus training pay. If that trainer was in his first year there, he made around 1750 on just one load that took one day.

If this post is Life After Roehl, why are you posting about current things happening and loads?

Because we are no longer with roehl?

You know, there are reasons that many of you were unable to make it here with Roehl, and most of those reasons are your own fault in one way or another.

    :biggrin_25514:

As I have posted, I am currently in my second 12 day out and have logged over 3200 miles with 6 days left to run. I am not running hard and long either. Currently I am averaging 532 miles a day. Take those miles and use your CPM when you were here and see if you would have made enough to your liking. While running weekly and having weekends off was nice, it wasn't practical for this business, running out 12 to 14 day's is more profitable for both the driver and the company. I pull a dry van in a dedicated fleet and do get a few short hauls and multiple stop loads, so far it has been worthwhile for me. I also happen to like being out on the road, while many do not. I also stated that I would give this 12 day out program a good 6 weeks to make a judgement, so, the jury is still out. I guess what I'm trying to say is, whatever reasons you had for leaving Roehl, it may not be Roehl, it just may be the industry or your circumstances.

Just my opinion, I don't mean to be derogatory toward anyone, just stating my opinion. :biggrin_25525:

I wasnt able to make it with roehl lol. I had a cake gig with roehl when I left. Dedicated account never under 2400 miles in a week. I was doing ####### awesome and loved it.

I found better, sleep in my own bed 6 out of 7 days of the week. Pulling 1800 a week after taxes. Roehl pays like crap is why I left. And to see my family more.

That's awesome that your new extended time out is working for you. Happy for you buddy.

I finished testing out today. Got my truck and trailer. Start running for real money tomorrow. There are talks of an updated contract shortly for my fleet which will put weekly earning potential to 1700+ per week. Plus home every night and under 300 miles a day doing very easy flatbed work.

Btw. I've talked to a couple other ex roehlies that had similar results as I had at roehl who are thriving with this company.
