The ones who don't have it greatly outnumber the ones that do.

Ontario is the worst in North America hands down. You rarely see enforcement and when you do it at the bottom of a hill, hand out the easy tickets and head to the doughnut shop. There is so much, illegal lane changing, following too close ( my pet peeve by far) , aggressive driving, crazy high speeds, inattention, too fast for conditions etc etc etc. The high rates of crashes and huge multiple vehicle crashes are getting out of hand. This last week a huge multi vehicle, multi crash west bound just past Napanee closed the 401 for over 12 hours. AND ITS SUMMER TIME!!! I place the blame at the feet of the OPP. start enforcing the laws. I have a friend in toronto and drives 125 all the time on the 401, never gets a ticket. It's like a free for all out there.

The OPP are no better than the other garbage out there. Here's an example for you. Westbound heading into Thunder Bay. Two lane traffic in the new section they opened up after the new split four lane area. Double yellow solid lines both directions. I see an OPP officer come up on me and a few cars behind me. He's got his lights going. I'm doing 97 in a 90 zone. I slow down trying to find a spot to let him by without hitting the ditch or blinding him with a shower of rocks and dust. Bridge comes up, I stop on it hugging the bridge rail so he can pass. He passes me and shuts his lights off! Was I livid!!! I wish I had gotten the car number, I'd have reported the b*****d. It'll be a cold day in hell before I get screwed like that again.

I've got zero respect for them now.

And get this, not long after that, a Day and Ross piece of garbage decides to pass me on a solid yellow line with oncoming traffic and then tries to cut me off. Still need to report that one. Just happen to get a photo with my phone which shows his truck, the roadway with a very visible line and the oncoming car.

    Time for a dash cam.

If you tried to get away with the kind of crap you see in the 401 in Maine on 95. You would Benin jail. Cops up here are lazy. Plain and simple.

I no longer get angry at the idiots I expect it from all drivers now. It has made the world of difference in my stress level.

Unfortunately in Canada, you're completely at the mercy of the junkies and punks that tend to frequent gas stations in the middle of the night. Call the cops and hope they bother to show up. Meanwhile, you could be lying face down in a pool of your own blood by the time they arrive...but hey, at least you followed the law and didn't use deadly force in protecting your own life...:smt075

Perfect response. I wish I had the discipline to implement an answer like this. I'm sure it would have aggravated him, and may even have escalated his rage, lol

I did not know that there were cars and trucks and civilization up in Canada. I thought it was only deer, moose and bears.

This thread blows apart the myth that Canadians are all non-violent, polite, and law abiding model citizens.
