Oh yeah I forget that companies use pallets and liftgates. My stuff is hand loaded on my trailer front to back. Pallets and lift gates would make my life so much easier. Second story deliveries would be terrible. I used to deliver appliances for lowes. Had to take many washers and dryers upstairs. Even a few refrigerators.

I had a lot of Home Depot appliances. My company policy was; 1) Never take them in the house. 2) Never, ever take anything up or down stairs. We could park the appliances in the garage, if they had one, or by a door, but that was all.

And of course we had folks tell us that "the salesman said you would place it, and even set it up for us." Right lady, I am going to suddenly become a plumber and hook up your dishwasher? NAH. . .:biggrin_25522:

Does whirlpool still have their own drivers. I remember them delivering to my store out of a 53" with a ramp triple stacking washers and dryers? Driver said he lost 80lbs doing that Job. Lol.

Lol I'm not 100% sure but when I was at lowes, EVERYTHING came on a Crete truck. Appliances and all. We got ltl trucks during the day that brought special order and hazmat stuff but Crete brought the general merchandise

Honestly man if someone with a little sense and some compassion ran these companies, the job wouldn't be bad at all. It has the potential to be a great and lucrative industry. Just like my company has the potential for the same. But it never will be. It makes me want to start my own company and use my own business model. So much for dreaming I guess.
