Customers come and go lately I feel I have lost more than I have got Jordan has killed two of my customers I'm talking Houston to Fort Wayne,in I was getting $3,800 last month two weeks ago I was ask why I have been charging so much? What? Same load thru Jordan $2,800 than my biggest customer I run into Baton Rouge and New Orleans atleast three times a week Jordan told them $720-$940 on a lane I get $1,000-$1,400.
It has not been good last two weeks I feel like I'm being ran over by large carriers! -
Also, most owner opps don't average 2/mile unless they are pretty successful. -

I can't get thru his head that running at $2.75/mi x 300 miles is $825 now he don't haul loads back he just heads back to move another one so that cuts the rate in half $2.75 cut is $1.37/mi but some days he does loads that go 40 miles and can move five a day at $225 and can make $1,125 that day per truck. You just can't tell some people anything I asked him a simple question how many miles you drive a week and how much money do you bring in he said that don't matter I still make $1,100 per truck and I'm going to buy more trucks.SL3406 Thanks this. -
Usually guys on dedicated runs they will work for nothing. Or if you want some really cheap labor/equipment tell drivers you will get them home nightly or regularly. For ones running irregular if you don't keep up with your numbers you won't ever see any trends. I have a ledger with 3 years of data every single spot market load I've hauled. This is hand written and takes about 2 minutes of my time every day to fill out info then about 5 minutes at the end of the month to summarize. That is useful trends info and only gets better as the years go by.
